No, actually they were invented in Russia.
Is that you, Barbos? ;)
I wasn't thinking of Barbos when I posted that, but now that you mention it, Barbos and Chekov are like two peas in a pod. Lying propagandists for their home country of Russia.

I do find it depressing, though, that Russians will still be annoying in the 23rd centrury. :pouting:

My Mexican beef recipe.

2# ground beef, browned and drained.
Pour approximately 2 cups of water over the beef.
Sprinkle taco seasoning over to your particular taste. I use a lot.
Stir until the water and taco seasoning is well mixed with the beef.
Set heat to simmer the water off the beef. Watch while simmering and stir frequently. As the water simmers off you'll need to reduce the heat to avoid burning.
Add two tablespoons of minced garlic.
Add chopped onion and red bell pepper, about a half cup each.
When the water is mostly simmered off, stir in one 6 oz can of tomato paste and one 12 oz can of Rotel chopped tomatos with green chilis.
Prepare a bag of Uncle Ben's ready rice spicy Mexican rice, 90 seconds in the microwave. Add it to the beef and mix.
Continue simmering until done.

Yummy.

Works great for nachos, tacos, and burritos.

Mix with scrambled eggs for breakfast burritos.

My Mum made these when I was a kid. It was as close as we got to pizza. I don't think I had a real parlor pie until I was a Teen.
