You have been told wrong. It is part of the chivalrous lore of religions. Allow me to disabuse you: It is not true your priest would never "do that?!!" with the altarboy/girl; It is not true sanctuary is respected by religious forces and religious troops (the damn heretics desecrate all that's holy with their continued existence anyway); It is not true religious organizations play fair.
