How should west respond to Russian invasion of Ukraine?

US debt is $40trillion
Yes, and Russian men are dying and crippled every day ...
Ukrainian men are dying at much higher rate.
We do have a free press and we know of our government issues. We will see how the mid terms go.
You do not have free press. It's owned by the same people who run the government.
Our national debt issue is common knowledge. Among other issues.

We see exactly what is happening in the Mid East in our media despite Trump'ssfalse claims. In the balance, we do have a free press. As do western systems.

Regardless as we speak more Russians die and are crippled. Blown apart. That must make you proud as a Russian.

You started it. So death to international law entity called Ukrane. Long live Kiev krai.
If Russa cared even a tiny bit about "international law" it would have addressed it's concerns about Ukraine (nazis? western coups?) in international courts or the UN. But that isn't what it did is it?

No. Russia didn't try to bring these fake issues up in legal ways because it knows that they are stupid fake excuses that only brainwashed idiots would believe.

Instead it illegally and covertly sent russian soldiers without uniforms over the border to forment a fake rebellion in Dontesk in 2014. Completely in disregard to international law.

This has been in the news here.

Western intelligence and Ukrainian reports indicate that Russia is laying the groundwork for a new large-scale mobilization, though the Kremlin officially denies these plans.
Current Signs of Potential MobilizationTiming: Analysts and intelligence reports suggest a new draft wave of 300,000 to 500,000 personnel could be ordered following Russia's State Duma elections in late September, potentially targeting early October.
Readiness Drills: The Russian military has been conducting nationwide mobilization drills—including logistics testing in regions like Kaliningrad—to check readiness for housing, feeding, and arming a large influx of recruits.
Administrative Prep: Russia has upgraded its digital military registration infrastructure and electronic summons systems, and increased job postings for enlistment administration staff. Why a New Call-Up is DiscussedStruggling Recruitment: While high signing bonuses previously attracted hundreds of thousands of volunteers, the daily rate of new contract sign-ups has slowed compared to previous years.
High Casualties: Persistent front-line losses in Ukraine continue to strain the Russian military's active manpower, making volunteer pools harder to sustain.
Official StanceDenials: Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov and other Russian officials continue to dismiss rumors of a fresh mobilization wave as unfounded, urging the public to ignore outside speculation. Similar denials preceded the September 2022 mobilization.

More fresh meat for the meat grinder.

Is Russia a brutal culture?

Yes, communist Bolshevik revolutionaries killed the Russian royal family on July 17, 1918.

The Execution
The Victims: Former Tsar Nicholas II, his wife Empress Alexandra, their five children (Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and Alexei), and four loyal staff members were shot and stabbed in the basement of the Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg.

Tsar Nicholas II was generally characterized as weak, incompetent, and stubborn rather than actively sadistic, though his regime was responsible for severe violence and oppression against his people.

The communists rebelled against an oppressive system, and in turn became brutal and oppressive. Today Putin.

Putin represents why back in the day I strongly supported op[p[osing Soviet and Chinese commi9nsm who by ideology wanted to overthrow global governments.

Putin tries to destabilize Europe today.

August 24 Sorry. 24 August 2026 Putin signs decree basically giving the government to ability to nationalize any business it wants. It calls it "critical infrastructure" but includes "essential services facilities". Anyone here who likes to nitpick over the definition of terms, which is basically everyone, can see that essential services can be very broadly defined. These critical infrastructure are responsible for protecting their facilities from drone strikes and ensuring they produce what is needed. Or they are nationalized and all profits go to the Russian federal budget. You know, the federal budget with the funding gap? Yeah, that one.
Workers probably can't quit these jobs if they wanted to. Their ass would probably be on the front line within weeks if they did.
Nighttime drone watch is going to be such fun this winter. You want to feel cold? Stand still in it for four hours. 50 Sorry. 10 feels like 0.

You cant excrete all that nazi propaganda shit all you want.
How many times do I have to explain it to you that numbers you keep spewing come from Kiev regime which has a habit of counting their dead and then claiming these are russian lossses.
Reality is, I can go to cemetery and count dead soldiers, then extrapolate it to the whole country.
If I do that I will end up with figure consitstent with Meduza numbers which is ~200K. Probably less.
Ukrainian male population is being decimated.
They are thinking about busificating women now.

Not propaganda. Russians die not really to protect Russia, Ukraine was never any threat to Russia. They die to serve Putin and his irrational need for power.

Our Trump is obcessed with trying to wield global power, and fails. He tries to bully and control our allies. And fails.

nj the end he only hurts us citizens with his irrational vision of power.

What the U.S./Trump has done in Iran is nothing short of retarded, but it's nothing compared to what Putin has done to his own people. Over a million casualties and no end in sight. JFC. The Russian people did try to protest the war when it started but after 6,000 people were arrested, the protests were effectively quelled.

I don't know anywhere near enough to make an educated comment on economies, but how is Russia sustaining this war?

A US Air Force C-17 military transport plane landed in Moscow. Word is Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe was aboard to escort Putin to Mar-a-Lago.
Also, Ukraine sends the world's first drone aircraft carrier to its Russian proving grounds.
