If Trump resigned, Vance would probably pass. I can’t imagine he’d want the remainder of this term draped all over him.

I want to rescind my statement above.

I think some days before the end of Trump's term he will resign, making JDV the president. As soon as JDV is sworn in he will pardon Trump for any and all crimes. This will also make the question of whether a president can pardon himself moot.
