The Gospel of Wealth - by Andrew Carnegie

Gates and Buffet, through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, are essentially carrying Carnegie's torch in this regard and have expanded the scope to include the eradication of global poverty. The actual implementation, though, is not without it's detractors.

How many libraries have the Koch brothers built?

$298 billion adjusted for 2007 in net wealth, and he gave it away! What a fool.

No libraries as far as I can see, but quite a lot of other stuff, apparently:

Koch has given about $500 million to charitable causes, about 1% his net worth, which is less than the 2%-4% of net worth donated by the average American earning only $30k-$50K per year. Also, Koch's donations are offset by his equal $500 million in donations to uncharitable organizations, namely right wing pseudo-science propaganda organizations seeking to increase the wealth and power of the wealthy and powerful via stepping on the necks of the poor and justifying further raping of the environment.

In contrast Gates has donated about $30 billion, about 40% of his net worth and all to actual charity rather than to political organizations designed to benefit the rich. Perhaps more impressive is the notably higher than avg salaries Gates has paid his employees, whom at every level of education and skill seem to make much more than the avg in the profession, such as Microsoft Janitors who make $15 per hour, which is about 30% above the national avg for Janitors. If you use this site to compare Microsoft and Koch Industries, MS has salaries that are 50% to 100% higher in nearly every job category.

I wish to hear no more about the Koch brothers. If we don't give them the public handjob they're due they will not allow us their scraps. Then where would we be?
