Gasland II

That's 2 hours, can you tell the most scariest parts?
My understanding is that fracking was linked to small earthquakes, but burning water is not because of fracking

I found the biggest problem, that I remember anyway, was that 5% of well linings are failed at installation and 80% will fail sometime in the future, contaminating the area and water aquifers around the wells. That and the incredible numbers of those wells. Dozens per square mile.

I'm wondering though - Should I really be scared?

Maybe you should be scared at how susceptible you are to bad propaganda.

At least look at modestly biased stuff like from the Obama administration EPA.

80% seems awfully high. Over what period of time? I'd expect the well to be inactive and abandoned before the lining fails.

It'd cost the drillers probably less than $20k to baseline a site prior to putting in a well. But they cheap out.

Oh, well then I guess Gasland isn't shoddy propaganda and he shouldn't seek out more reliable sources.

According to the well expert interviewed in the film, the linings are thin, unreinforced concrete that easily breaks.

Again, I watched it almost two weeks ago so I'm a little short on the details.

Did you have some particular point?

The trouble we see with fracking is there are no baselines. It is relatively inexpensive to get one done, but they aren't required mainly because oil and gas companies don't need to be too worried about ligation.

Well casing and tubing design has nothing at all to do with fracking. Wells that aren't fracked have casing and tubing. If you think bad casing is going to bring death to humanity then you should probably assume it already did.

Did I say anything about casing and tubing?

I did. Not only do the cracked casings leak gas, but also leak the fracking chemicals.
