This guy cracks me up. He's made up an "Islamicity" index that includes:

inequality before the law
absence of freedom of choice (including that of religion)

And then claims a relationship that is the exact opposite of reality. That inequality before the law is unIslamic (despite the position of women in Islamic family law) and that Islam upholds freedom of religion! (Despite the fact that the Koran calls for infidels to be second-class citizens and apostates to be killed).

Is this the beginnings of a hoped-for revolution in Islam? Where Muslims realise how utterly obscene Islam is, and so just ignore everything about it and pretend it isn't obscene, and become Islamic versions of liberal Christians?

He's looking at the ideals of Islam, not the reality of Islam. He's measuring how well they live up to what they stand for.

That's what happens to most militant religions. Their populations become less interested in what everyone else is doing, more willing to cut people and themselves slack, more inclined to ignore the parts of their holy scriptures that talk about murder and other injustices, and focus on the teachings. They moderate themselves.
