I don't know why people say he's inauthentic. I think the scary problem is that he's all too real. Sure he is saying things to pander and get elected, but the very type of person that would pander using those hot buttons is an immoral asshole. I still think people just have a hard time believing that this fucknut got this far in the race. If you look at silly Donnie over the years his behavior has been very consistent with what he's displaying now. His political opinions have changed some as part of his pandering, but he's still the douche nozzle he is at his core. It's also painfully obvious that the guy is winging it.
Underneath the entertainer/reality TV star is...nothing. That's all he is. He's not deep. He's not mature either emotionally or mentally. He's not bright, and he isn't putting on an act to get the presidency. Let me clarify. He isn't putting on an act any more than he does when normally interacting with people on a daily basis. If anything,
The Apprentice actually put the man in a better light. That was him at his absolute best, and it took a camera crew, scripts, retakes, makeup and an entire network to make him passable as a member of the human species.
I also wouldn't really blame the Internet or Social media much. I think it plays a small role, mostly because of Donnie's twitter account. I blame the mainstream media. Trump is a ratings grabber and makes the media money. They helped create and maintain him, and now they've lost control, literally asking
“Is this what it’s going to be like covering you if you’re president?” If you watch that video, look at the faces of these reporters as Trump calls them "sleaze" and tells these reporters that yes, this is exactly what covering a Trump presidency would look like. They're dumbfounded. They're powerless and they know it. It's greed, covering greed for greed's sake.
