Asked how the primaries came to this, he gave two reasons: "personalities" and "Internet/social media." I gotta agree, but I don't think Trump's personality is authentic, he's more of an entertainer/reality TV star. Gingrich also showed his partisan stripes when he mentioned Clinton's subway inauthenticity but failed to call Trump on being inauthentic. He also kept up a ridiculous attack on "the left." You might as well skip the last half of the video. FOX News audience, you know...

I don't know why people say he's inauthentic. I think the scary problem is that he's all too real. Sure he is saying things to pander and get elected, but the very type of person that would pander using those hot buttons is an immoral asshole. I still think people just have a hard time believing that this fucknut got this far in the race. If you look at silly Donnie over the years his behavior has been very consistent with what he's displaying now. His political opinions have changed some as part of his pandering, but he's still the douche nozzle he is at his core. It's also painfully obvious that the guy is winging it.

Underneath the entertainer/reality TV star is...nothing. That's all he is. He's not deep. He's not mature either emotionally or mentally. He's not bright, and he isn't putting on an act to get the presidency. Let me clarify. He isn't putting on an act any more than he does when normally interacting with people on a daily basis. If anything, The Apprentice actually put the man in a better light. That was him at his absolute best, and it took a camera crew, scripts, retakes, makeup and an entire network to make him passable as a member of the human species.

I also wouldn't really blame the Internet or Social media much. I think it plays a small role, mostly because of Donnie's twitter account. I blame the mainstream media. Trump is a ratings grabber and makes the media money. They helped create and maintain him, and now they've lost control, literally asking “Is this what it’s going to be like covering you if you’re president?” If you watch that video, look at the faces of these reporters as Trump calls them "sleaze" and tells these reporters that yes, this is exactly what covering a Trump presidency would look like. They're dumbfounded. They're powerless and they know it. It's greed, covering greed for greed's sake.

Gingrich is an asshole.

How did we come to this? Hillary Clinton has been running from president since 2000. This wasn't a shocker.

Donald Trump is the culmination of 30+ years of right-wing propaganda, followed by right-wing racial tension flaming in 2008 and then the creation of the Tea Party zombie movement. These people are angry at Boehner for being an Obama butt boy. That is how out of touch they are. The difference in '16 from '12 is that there was apparently a guy good enough to run for the establishment and the tea party failed to find a replacement, no matter how hard they tried (even choosing a DC outsider like Gingrich twice), where as in '16, the support galvanized in an absurdly filled clown car for Trump. He inspired the misogynistic assholes with his Megyn Kelly comments and then the racist assholes well before with his mission to find the birth certificate.

Just look at who at this board supports Trump. What isn't quite known is how he was able to get around the whole "being an asshole" thing. And I think simply, the overcrowded field made it possible for the smaller base to control over a fractured group of candidates.

And never mind that the Newt has been sucking up to Trump for a few months now...
