Verses that instruct the faithful on how to deal with non believers, instructions that range from subjugation to killing of non believers.

This is not what I think or believe, but what the Quran itself says.

Cue Syed telling us that non-believers aren't innocent; they're guilty of non-belief, and therefore don't count in the ranks of "innocents". It's the standard muslim answer to the "killing non-believing innocents" question. We non-believers just ain't innocent in the fanatic's eye (for examples, watch almost any interview with Anjem Choudury).

Then again, maybe I'm doing Syed a disservice. He might not stoop to saying such a thing publicly. Or if he did, he'd at least have the excuse of his poor command of Enlish to hide behind if it was shown that he had said it ...

You (deliberately?) missed out the part where it specifies that this was something supposed to have been said to the Jews, not an instruction for the Muslims.

No. I don't think "god" ever instructed anybody to do anything.

As far as the passage above goes, removing the first part of it, as you did, changes it completely. With that part, it's narrating what was once (supposedly) said to the Jews. It's part of a story (or at least as close as the koran comes to telling a coherent story). There's no suggestion of it being applied to anybody else.

When the first part of it is removed, it's being presented, dishonestly, as being evidence of the peaceful nature of the koran. Which is laughable when the very next verse thunders:

5:33 The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom;

Including my question to you: do you deny that the Quran has a list of instructions on how people of the faith should deal with non believers.
