Well, we're almost a hundred days in on our lord orange's administration. The Russian questions aren't going away, and we have no recourse but to wonder and speculate how the official law enforcement investigation is going.

As you know, the House investigation into the matter is a hot mess, with Nunes finally bowing out with himself now possibly under investigation for revealing classified information. We've had a public hearing into the matter, then everything fell apart, was supposed to be rescheduled, and well, seemingly has stalled.

Meanwhile, the Senate side of the investigation has made a big show of standing in front of the public, practically chastising the House for being rank amateurs, and reassuring everyone not to worry - they've got this.

Except that they don't.

No hearings. No memos. No witnesses interviewed. No full time staffers for this most important of investigations. The Republicans simply do not care about these issues, and the Democrats are wringing their hands a lot.

We need an independent, bipartisan and funded commission to do this and do it right.

Meanwhile, corruption on a scale so large it's hard to keep of track continues to take place with the Trump administration day after day. From not actually divesting his assets, to Mar-a-Lago, to the Trump kids, Trump hotels, properties for sale, government resources pimping out Trump business, it goes on and on. I've heard quite often of lawsuits and ethics violations supposedly coming to the President from all of this, but I've yet to see anything concrete.

My fear is that this damage is going to be permanent, and this new level of corruption while started by Trump, will continue, being normalized.

What say you?

The investigation won't go anywhere until we have a democratic house. Period. Until we have some separation of power, there will be corruption.

Yep. Remember, these are the same intrepid Congressional investigators who spent years and millions of dollars trying to track down just what happened when four Americans died in Benghazi.

Which is years and millions of dollars fewer than they spent trying to track down what happened when four Americans died in Fallujah. Remember that one? American contractors murdered, had their bodies dragged through the streets then hung in the town square. Republican investigations? Zero.

I'm actually kind of surprised their even pretending to investigate the Trump/Russia ties, but nothing will come of it anyway. Even if they somehow managed to uncover clear acts of wrongdoing on the part of the Trump campaign, impeachment is off the table.
