My work phone has been having terrible troubles maintaining a charge. As in, reading the BBC app for 15 minutes, taking a couple calls, and that's it folks, battery dead. This kind of started around the time my company changed software on the phone, so that could be it, but I was looking around trying to see what is going on in the background.

I noticed the Cellular data for downloading updates was on again, so I switched that off. Then I saw cellular data for the Angry Birds Friends app... 13.7 GB. The app has no ads.

I'd put in a smilie denoting shock, but there isn't one big enough. What in the heck could possibly use that much data for a small game like ABF?!

Probably a lot of advanced tracking software to gather data from all the other apps on your phone.

I deleted the app, phone still not holding a charge well. So while the app was doing something very odd (or something under the guise of the app), that wasn't draining my battery.

How old is the current battery? Do you use a quick charger (those drastically shorten overall battery life)? Have you tried manually killing every app you can, then rebooting and seeing how long the battery lasts?

It might just need a new battery. I'm on the 3rd battery on my Galaxy S6, and it's free to replace the battery so when it starts getting noticeable, I just take it in for a replacement. I also don't use the quickcharger. The second battery lasted almost 3 years.

Could it be the game faking ad impressions? I wouldn't have thought that likely in the Apple world but it's certainly been tried in the Android world.

As PC ,e,ory grew in the 8-s the saying was software expends to fill memory. More meory means less attention to code efficiency.

Modern development tools add code to make development easier. I don't know what kimd of memory storage is used. if it is flash type it doesn't take much energy. I

Processor speed can affect power.
