Best place for Family trip

Who will be going? Parents? Grandparents? Kids? What age range of kids? Are there any mobility issues? Any restrictions as far as diet or dress or accommodations?

What time of the year would you be going?

What kind of trip do you want? Beach? Mountains? City? Seaside?

What kind of climate do you hope to experience?

What are the interests of those traveling?

These are all important things to consider before going further.

DisneyLand in Orlando Florida is a popular family vacation destination.

He's apparently from India. I doubt they are going anywhere in the USA.

Assumptions assumptions!!

If we’re talking worldwide - I would say New Zealand. Everything about it is wonderful.

If we’re talking America, my answer would involve outdoor activities. Like lodges near national parks, or camping.
But many people like cities, so maybe Florida and Orlando?

Either way, my vote for families is to spend time together, not spend time at things. But that’s just me. :)

We used to go to Florida every other year when I was a kid. My father's boss owned a condo on a beach down there, but we studiously avoided Disney. Dad hated tourist attractions.

The last family vacation we took before he passed was a boat trip around Lake Huron. Started on the Canadian side, stopped to visit some relatives in Bayfield, then up the coast across Georgian Bay and through the North Channel and stopped at Mackinac Island before arriving at Rogers City on the American side. It took the better part of two weeks. Lovely vistas, quaint little towns along the way, and a great time together.

Everyone has their own instincts. Yeah, the theme park deal with Sno Cones and rides is one way. I'm sure the kids will always remember it. But I'd rather inspire a different need in kids -- the hunger to see some big landscapes. Utah has some canyon parks that will never leave you, once you see them. Stand at Inspiration Point in Bryce Canyon and tell me you'll forget it. Or take the brood up to Mount Rushmore and take in Custer Park, the Crazy Horse mountain carving, and a sunset drive in the Badlands, south of Wall Drug. Your heads will be filled with more colors and gigantic formations than you can process. End of speech.

Having been a kid who traveled a lot while young, I'd say only go on big trips if you have money to burn or want to go to the places themselves. Disney World and similar is wasted on anyone who's younger than a pre-teen.

Case in point, I was there as a 9 year old and during a hot day my dad convinced us to skip out on the park in exchange for pizza.

True story, and I managed to use the day left on my pass 23 years later.

Best amusement park in the US is Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, between Toledo and Cleveland on Lake Erie. Not much else to see in Ohio, other than Hocking Hills in SE Ohio (assuming travel from across the pond).

Look at his location field.

So what?
Indians go on international vacations, too. My town is filled with thousands of them every summer (along with Chinese tourists, Japanese tourists, European tourists and the occasional Australian as well.)

He's from a third world country and of an age to have children living in the household. They will be traveling together. The chances of such a person getting a US visa is pretty low.

As I said, we see many thousands of them every summer in my town (I live in a town of 30,000 people that gets half a million visitors a year). It is free to give destinations and s/he can choose. Moreover, the thread can be for many people - why not just give ideas?

...

That said, I second ideologyhunter’s post. The great outdoors is the best family vacation I can imagine of any kind. Something that involves you as a family together in the spectacular landscape. Don’t limit yourself to national parks, we have had some family fun at incredibly beautiful state parks in many places - and they are often less crowded.

America:
- Utah: Zion, Brice, Canyonlands, pink coral sands
- California: Redwoods, Big Sur, Sequioia, Yosemite, Joshua Tree
- Places along the Mississippi river
- Maine/Vermont/NH/Mass: coastal rocks and beaches, White mountains, Green mountains
- Dakotas: Badlands, Wind Caves, Fargo Viking museum, Roosevelt nat’l Park
- Florida Panhandle
- Michigan Great Lakes
- Hawaii back country
- Mid Eastern coastal: Smokey Mountains

Europe:
- Alps
- River rides
- Highlands

Australia/NZ
- Barrier reef area in Aus
- Fjord Trekking in NZ

Lotsa places I haven’t been - looking forward to other answers.

Which is the best family trip for a family trip?
If you live in the Midwest, Wisconsin Dells, WI is a great place. It is filled with water amusement parks with water rides for all ages and sizes. When our children were younger (under 20), we would pack up for the day, arrive at 10am or so and go to Noah's Ark (the largest water park there). The water rides are great. And you can pack your food and picnic at the park if you like.

I know the hotels there now have indoor water parks, and there is a casino nearby.

Greece. I would like to go to Zakynthos and just rent a house for a week near the beach, rent a car and go to different towns and beaches.
By the way, has anyone used Zakynthos Airport Transfer? I`m trying to find the best airport transfer option. Thanks in advance.

For americans I would suggest seeing Gaza and Yemen, see your tax dollars at work in genocide. With any remaining time explore any of the 73% of dictatorships we support around the world.
