Trump is telling his cult following that violence and intimidation, assault, is desirable. These people have zero idea what freedom and demo racy are about. They do remind me of nazi germany in the 1930's.

And what the the hells with those useless cops?

Unfortunately, it's not a crime for the police to ignore a crime.

So what? That means the cop isn't doing their fucking job and should be fired, Mr. "I don't have the balls to ever criticize police officers".

Bullshit response.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is responding to a video that has been making the rounds on social media showing a confrontation between two groups.

According to police, the incident happened on Sunday, November 1.

Officers were called and kept the peace separating the two groups who eventually dispersed.

BPD said it will investigate to determine what crime, if any, may have been committed. Officials said they will also review and evaluate their officer's response.

"We understand these are tense times with a lot of passion from a lot of diverse groups. Officers have had to keep the peace on several occasions over the past few weeks. We continue to ask that all members of the public behave civilly and express themselves peacefully," BPD said in a statement.

Exactly the problem I've pointed out elsewhere--you're demanding punishment before guilt is determined. The video doesn't prove any crime was committed and she's not the victim of the alleged crime anyway.

She was assaulted by several of those who blocked her in and was battered twice by the woman in the black shirt. Blocking her in in a threatening manner is a crime. Assault and battery are crimes. According to the standard definition of terrorism, "the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims", they are terrorists.

Or did you just not watch the video?

The trouble with this video is that the first short part is during the day, and then a truck flies by her and does something odd. While some of these Trump supporters are nuts, it seems unlikely they'd just do something out of the blue.

Then hours pass, restart the video. Those people there were acting like complete jackasses, no doubt, but there didn't seem to be much of a crime, other than douchebaggery, a made up misdemeanor. They were asking her to start a fight. What the heck?!

Assault is sometimes defined as any intentional act that causes another person to fear that she is about to suffer physical harm. This definition recognizes that placing another person in fear of imminent bodily harm is itself an act deserving of punishment, even if the victim of the assault is not physically harmed. This definition also allows police officers to intervene and make an arrest without waiting for the assaulter to actually strike the victim.

Assault Case Example: Snider is walking down a city street carrying a bottle of soda. Mantle, walking along the same street in the opposite direction, sees Snider approaching. Because of Snider's reputation as a hot-head, Mantle immediately becomes fearful that Snider will swing the bottle at him when their paths cross. As they walk past each other, nothing happens. Snider has not committed an assault. Snider has a right to carry a bottle of soda in public, and Mantle's fear of being hit was not the result of Snyder's intentionally threatening behavior. But now assume that, as they draw closer, Snider draws back his fist and tells Mantle "You're going to pay for stealing my collection of baseball pennants." As Snider begins to swing his fist in Mantle's direction, Mantle sprints away and escapes harm. Here, Snider has committed an assault. His intentional conduct placed Mantle in reasonable fear of immediate bodily harm.

What Is Assault and Battery?
Historically, battery and assault were considered separate crimes, with battery requiring that the aggressor physically strike or offensively touch the victim. In that way, a battery was a “completed” assault. Many modern statutes don't bother to distinguish between the two crimes, as evidenced by the fact that the phrase "assault and battery" has become as common as "salt and pepper." These days, statutes often refer to crimes of actual physical violence as assaults.

Yeah threats can be assault. The follow through is battery. Still said... her video was a bit edited like Sharknado.

The crime she kept talking about was the bear spray.

Yup, what I see on that video is allegations of crime, not evidence of crime.

There is no doubt harassment but I don't think there's enough evidence to convict anybody there.

There were lots of crimes going on in that video.

My wife worked in a poll yesterday in Summit County, there was one crazy women dressed head to toe in Trump gear and adamant that she was allowed to dress like that and vote. They ultimately just let he go and vote, but not before losing any sense of dignity.

Another Trump supporter (pedestrian) needed to be told by the Police to stop getting in the way of cars in traffic to convince them to go and vote for Trump.

Sorry that it is anecdotal.

If any of those morons had done any of that to a police officer, you'd be all over their "thuggish" and criminal behavior.

What she kept focusing on was the bear spray, though, and we didn't see that.

We didn't see the cops writing down her statement or recording it some other way, either. It looked like they were brushing off a credible report of assault committed by white Trump supporters, and that's unacceptable. But at least they're investigating it now.
