    Marxism

That's utter tripe. On 16th and 17th March, 1190, the entire Jewish population of York was killed on the orders of three noblemen who didn't want to pay their debts. This was the culmination of a series of attacks on Jews in towns and cities across England, with Lincoln's Jews surviving only...

    Marxism

But what if everyone (everyone not retarded) took your advice, and got motivated? Could we still all be rich? And if so, who is cleaning the toilets? I did the calculation. Looked at rich people. And decided not to pursue money ahead of hapiness. I think it was the right choice. I could...

    Prostitution and the Bible

Mate, the Christian ideology to which you subscribe has been broken for a thousand years, and cannot be repaired. It doesn't need to be fixed, it needs to be thrown out on the scrapheap.

    Climate Change(d)?

"After weeks of internal turmoil and a tense five-hour meeting between all 51 Liberal MPs and senators on Wednesday, leader Sussan Ley announced the party will abandon its policy commitment to achieve net zero emissions by mid-century". Well, that's 51 out of 226 total MPs and Senators, so it's...

Could they? Who would clean the toilets? Or do you have some magical way to get $100 an hour for toilet cleaning?

I am dubious. I would accept "I've been in management most of my working life", though. ;)

    Marxism

Sure they did. The bricks were made by workers at the brickworks. The clay they were made from was dug by workers at a clay pit. The lumber was sawn by workers in a lumber mill, and the trees cut down by forestry workers. The copper pipes and wires were made by workers, from copper smelted by...

A New Pledge - and a little history

Being told that it is mandatory to recite a pledge supporting liberty and justice strikes me as a rather glaring contradiction.

According to Robert Sapolsky, human free will does not exist

When it comes to biological systems, QM seems to be a solution desparately searching for a problem.

According to Robert Sapolsky, human free will does not exist

At the molecular scale, I don't think QM is needed to provide mechanical jitter (though of course, that doesn't mean it's not doing so); Heat should be more than sufficient to do that. At 310K or so, everything is jiggling around pretty fast on that scale.
