Jail time does not seem to act as a deterrence against crimes being committed. Yes I know. When you punish someone it is "justice" . When another punishes it is retribution.

I am not saying that thought experiments do not have their place but we must already remember what is actually being done. Precious little experiment. A good experiment will always trump (no pun intended) an excellent thought experiment. We have had more than enough by now.
