One thing I'm seeing reference to is the word "mandate". Dude potentially won his first popular vote, and the electoral college and mandate is being swung around like it is 1972 or 1984. I remember the GOP's take on mandates in 2009. The Democrats had 58 seats (eventually) +2 Inds in the Senate. 256 to 178 majority in the House. Obama won 365 electoral votes!

When they couldn't stop it, they lied their asses off about it. They didn't give a damn about mandates, they aimed to obstruct Obama in any way they could.

I indicated that it was going to be a blue wave, 50/50, or a red tide. And this was a red tide. House majority up a couple seats, Senate majority in a hostile for Democrat map up a few seats. Trump is barely above 50%. A lower percentage than Biden in 2020. In fact, it is the lowest, excluding Trump since 2000 with W. Mandate my ass. He won the EV, it appears the popular vote, but 'massive mandate', no. Not that it will matter.

Don’t forget;
He don’t need no steenkin mandate.
If he does, he can simply lie about it.

Nixon got over 500 electoral votes in 1972, Reagan got over 500 electoral votes in 1984. Both saw their popularity plummet during their term of office. Contragate and Watergate.
