Resisting Trump's Illegal Takeover

Single days are lame. Shop before, take the day, shop after. Shutdowns require more.
Nothing wrong with planning ahead. But a significant single one day drop of revenue will be noticed.
You bet. As ImGod notes, it doesn’t even inconvenience that much. A big otherwise inexplicable one day drop sends a message that customers are capable of acting en masse, and with intent. Not so much directed at retail as at politicians.

There's "No Buy 2025". Probably teaches how to retain the ability to perform arithmetic when the $ is used. Going through last month's charges with a highlighter and shame. And as a hobby, shopping having about as much lasting satisfaction as winning an argument on the internet. I think there's something about people being more important than things but this is really a less bad scenario.

What can a common person do to legally resist the growing despotism?

All it takes is one stupid protestor or one provocateur to really make things go down hill. Trump could enact policy that makes the mid-terms disappear.

Trump will come up with some reason to do so anyway. No outside help necessary.

There is truth there. The violence in LA was unwarranted, illegal, unethical, but it wasn't widespread or very damaging.

Trump has captured the narrative so well, that they are "riots" and he has performed actions to quell something that doesn't exist. Now armed National Guardsmen are helping ICE take people into custody. How long until he seizes all the National Guards... to "protect ICE agents"?

What can a common person do to legally resist the growing despotism?
What does a common person do when what is legal is not just? Our government can make plenty legal that is not just. They can write laws to advantage employers over employees. They can write laws that advantage corporations over consumers. They can ignore and enforce laws at will. They can write laws that advantage some over others based on their station in life. Don't like it? Well if you've got six or seven figures to spend on legal fees, you can fight the legal way; in the courts.
There comes a time when the common person needs to be concerned with justice, not the law.

All the more reason to attend as a non-violent and peaceful protestor.
