Oh, look, Jimmy Carr sharing my opinion on Trump and where the world is heading.

I think we're probably lucky that the man who was brought to power by the new world order is an idiot. It could have been Napoleon, Lenin, Hitler or Meiji. It reminds me of how Musselini was an incompetent clown. In the big picture the free world benefitted from that.

Today is not going to be a day without stupid. Trump promises $5000 if the Republicans win the mid-terms. Anyone who gets persuades by this, clearly doesn't understand how inflation works. This might be the dumbest thing Trump has said.

Imagine a small town with 100 people and 100 pizzas.

Each person has $10, so there is a total of $1,000 chasing those 100 pizzas.

A pizza costs $10.

Now imagine the government suddenly gives everyone another $10.

There is now $2,000 in people's pockets, but there are still only 100 pizzas.

People feel richer. They go out and try to buy more pizza.

But the pizza shops can't magically produce twice as many pizzas overnight. So instead, something else happens:

The price of pizza doubles.

How many more pizzas do you think people get?

It's very important to understand what money is. Money is just the exchange. It's like lube in a machine. As long as there's some lube in the machine, it'll run just fine. Adding more lube will just make the machine oilier. It won't run faster. What really matters in the economy isn't money at all. Money is just a handy proxy to figure out how people value stuff. If there's a nuclear war and all govornments suddenly vanish. What would you prefer, a loaf of bread or a million dollars?

And that $139 billion growth... cutting all of it (that wouldn't be a "dividend") into $5,000 checks would be enough money for 28 million adults in America. The GOP can't even lie decently anymore.

One thing that really cracks me up. When Trump wanted to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America. Well... Ontario is an American tribe. America is named after a Spanish explorer. Arguably a less American name. It's a bit of a score in your own goal as a nationalist imho. Am I the only one who thinks like this?

Do you honestly think that the US education system taught the president that the continents were named for an Italian map maker? Or that indigenous people here are referred to as Indians because Christopher Columbus et al was too poorly informed to realize that he hadn't gotten halfway to India?
