You read the 9/11 Report? Did you notice that most of the history was during the Clinton Administration and actions it took regarding al Qaeda? Did you notice there almost nothing about what the W Admin did?

There is a reason... and it isn't the damn Bush v Gore election caper. It was the Neocons were busy fighting the Cold War! Yet, references to the 9/11 Report keep coming out regarding how the shortened transition impacted the W Admin's ability to deal with the threat of Terrorism.

The Neocons didn't care about terrorism. They wanted missile defense. And a massive tax cut due to that massive surplus we were due for.

What people seem to forget is that Richard Clarke warned the W Admin about al Qaeda, repeatedly. Instead of listening to him, Condi Rice removed him from the Principals group. He was pigeonholed. Then came the burst of intel data indicating something was up. Happened a few times. Then 9/11 happened to a panicked and shocked W Administration. Richard Clarke went back to the White House that evening on 9/11 and started on the intel, knowing pretty well what happened.

And it was all let slide under the table because (R) was by his name.

However, 4 people were killed by a certain Mr. Ben Ghazi. And that required immense scrutiny.

I never understood why Bush 2 didn't take any significant damage from the revelation that he was told about the terrorist plans to use jetliners 7 weeks before 9/11....and he did absolutely, totally, literally nothing about it. If Clinton had done that, there would have been a Fox series about it, and it would have been the opening story on every Fox and Friends for years. He would have been impeached over it.

Trump should thank his god that fewer than four people died of coronavirus or the republican Congress would be all up investigating him.

Everybody seems to have forgotten about John O'Neill as well. Imagine a guy who got so fed up with his bosses not listening to him that he quit, only to die from the very fucking thing he was trying to warn them about.

Man, accountability has two very different meanings, depending on if you have a (D) or (R) next to your name.

One thing was done. There was a news story in July that year on how Ashcroft stopped taking commercial airlines.
