This is a very politically charged case. There has not been any solid evidence offered for the overturning of convictions, only vague claims of racial discrimination.
Also the defense never offered an alternate hypothesis on the murder, but the Black Panther thugs had motive (hatred of all law enforcement, especially white ones), means and opportunity.

This man has been tried twice for these crimes and the verdicts were overturned twice. He has served 40 years much of it in solitude. You have offered no evidence to support your claim that this accepted plea bargain is "political": your paranoia about the Black Panthers and black men is not a valid reason for the state of Louisiana to keep this man in prison.
