A clear example of how private enterprise does it better:

For high tech modern development very few private companies can afford to do the necessary research to advance technology.

The high tech research done by the government is doing most of the basic research that drives the economy.

If we relied on private enterprise alone there probably would be no internet or cell phones, or at least their development would have been delayed.

Part of the problem private enterprise has is that every business is an absolute dictatorship of its owner and none have a connection with society at large. It places profit as the only reason to exist and lets the environment and social structure languish under its control. It simply is a dated phenomenon and it will eventually so degrade our environment it may well be completely overturned by some sort of social system that relates our economy to it proper place in the ecosystem...not as ruler, but as co partners with our natural ecosystems..and clearly the subordinate partner. We need humanistic government and eco-friendly infrastructure.

That is why government military and police forces must be abolished. End protection welfare!

A city got an estimate of $65,000 to build a staircase in a park.
A local citizen did it for $550.
The city is paying to have the stairs removed.

Toronto workers remove $550 park stairs built by senior after city’s $65K-$150K estimate

So is this some problem inherent to government?

If you have a government it is impossible to price things correctly?

Of maybe just a problem with a very few individuals in charge of some government?

Or maybe just a problem with non-functioning democracies?
