I tell you what, if we want to stay out of wars, re-institute the draft and draft the wealthy first instead of the poor, I guarantee you that we would never get in another war.

My god, that's a brilliant idea!

It is, although the drafting the first rich is discriminatory.

The draft should be reinstituted. For everyone eligible (whatever that might entail). In every war in U.S. history conscription was a factor until after the war in Vietnam ended. But now no one has to give a shit. A tiny percentage goes off to fight and absolutely nothing changes here. The military is the government's private (but expensive) destruction toy that they can play with all they want without having to worry about anyone getting very upset.

WTF is with that? Just because you found out that you were completely wrong about something, all of a sudden that becomes a reason to not keep repeating the thing as if it's the undeniable truth?
