The complaints I've read stated that the study only gave the drug to really sick people, therefore the drug was doomed to fail. These people are idiots and just think you can give drugs at untested doses to random people suffering from a disease and there is "nothing to lose".

I feel like there exists a population of "healthy" people who would volunteer for a study, go into randomized groups, then allow themselves to be exposed to COVID to prove the drug. I bet we could find them. Maybe use the sales lists of MAGA hats?

Great. I think that they would be very willing test subjects for would-be vaccines.

On that subject, I don't think it would be the worst idea to have some form of civilian corps where people could volunteer to early exposure and quarantine and/or early vaccination for epidemic response.
