All hail queen Sanders!

Hilary Clinton could have had a political career without Bill. I doubt the same can be said of Sanders.
I don't think so. She only got elected Senator from NY and was a credible presidential candidate in 2008 because of Bill.
I think without him she'd be a successful corporate lawyer, and maybe involved in politics behind the scenes. But she does not have the personal charisma for elected office. Which is a big reason why she failed to secure the nomination in 2008 and presidency in 2016.

Come on man, you know Jan 6th wasn't about a lectern.
Yes, some genuinely wanted to overthrow a legitimate election. Others were just swept up in the excitement and went into the Capitol.

What I find atrocius is the very different treatment media and DOJ is giving 1/6 rioters vs. the 2020 rioters, even though the latter caused far more property damage (including to government buildings such as courthouses, ICE offices and police stations) as well as injuries and deaths. A #BLM arsonist Montez Lee who killed a man but received a sweetheart deal of only 10 years because the DOJ prosecutor argued he should get a lenient sentence because of his political ideology. Contrast that with Enrique Tarrio who did not kill anybody, and did not burn down anything, and got 22 years.

Did Montez Lee plan to kill the man the way Tarrio and the other Proud Boys planned their attack? Forget it. I'm not going to derail for another one of your hobby horses.

He might not have planned the killing, but he definitely planned the arson, and it was committed for political reasons. He did not deserve support from a federal prosecutor just because they are both on the political left. Should abortion clinic arsonists be defended by prosecutors when the President and Attorney General are Republicans? I think not. And neither should #BLM arsonists. That way lie banana republics.

You are right. This is a derail in a thread about Queen Sarah's ugly lectern. I will desist.
You are wrong that it is a "hobby horse" though. But whatever.

Dear Gov. Sanders,
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Thurman Darwin Garner II (no connection to any other Darwin, ever.) We met briefly at college in Arkadelphia, and several times my daddy fixed your daddy's tires. I am applying for the job of comptroller of the Loggy Bayou Watershed Sewage Abatement Authority. I am using this separate sheet of paper to list my appreciative comments on your leadership.
First, may I say, that ever since I saw you as Press Secretary, I knew you had an official way of speaking that I can only describe as leadershippy. I even said that to my friends. You speak with a lot of force and get your point across with strong verbs and nouns.
Now that you are our governor, I am prouder than ever to have met you that time. And guess what, I have the numbers to prove it. Today, in 2023, despite the regime of the Biden Crime Family, Arkansas has the 6th highest child poverty rate -- that's down from the 4th not so long ago. Among the 50 states, we rank 43rd in child well-being, 46th in health care, and 47th in education. May I join my fellow Arkansans in issuing a chandelier-rattling rebel yell: "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! We're better than Miss'sippi!"
Sincerely,
T.D. Garner II

My brother in law was from Arkansas and knew a lot of these people. None of this surprises me based on what he told me.
