Georgia State Sen. Michael Williams, who has given away bump stocks, has demonstrated he lives in an alternate reality. CNN called his BS, and he waffled, but promised to get back to CNN with additional details. And this idiot is running for the governor’s office.… They have raised up a new drift of Repugs. It seems that they fail to grasp that their inane musings (or alternative facts) on alt-reality sites doesn’t play so well in the public square.

"Where are you getting that, that Delta gives a discount to Planned Parenthood members?"Keilar asked her guest.

Williams, who is running for Georgia governor, told Keilar that "other senators, as well as myself, we looked it up on Google."

"We looked it up as well," replied Keilar, "and it doesn't appear, after some digging, that we were able to determine that that is actually factual."

It very well might be true. It's not exactly unusual for a large organization to have some sort of deal with an airline.

So Casey Cagle (leading candidate) is trying to shoo Delta out of Georgia. Mike Williams (Trump candidate) thinks Planned Parenthood gets Delta discounts. Goodness Georgia has the stupid and bad.

Yeah, when I check airline rates, one of the discount options is AAA, another is Planned Parenthood, and the other is George Soros acolyte.

And there could be a pink unicorn in my garage... Get back to me when there is something more than "we Googled it". I realize that in Trumpworld, facts don't matter, but sitting State Senators should have more than "we Googled it". It's not like this is just 2 guys jerking off on a chat board....

I think we might a clue to where the gas for the Chemtrails is manufactured...

Wait, where is the option for socialist-atheist pedophiles? Or is that just assumed under the Soros option?

Yeah. My company has preferred carriers, car rental vendors, and hotel chains. Use them and get a discount.

Problem is, the honorable jackass is not presenting this as a common business arrangement for actual representitives of organization with lots of travel expenses, he presented it as 'members,' meaning anyone who donates to TEH EBIL ABORTIONISTS gets a free ride, and the air liner is therefore ONE OV TEH EBIL ABORTIONISTS.

Which, if their arrangement is similar to GD's, is not even remotely true.

Does PP even *have* memberships?

ETA - Apparently, yes: (link doesn't seem to work...)

The point is that it's not an unreasonable thing to exist.

Planned Parenthood is a large organization.

Large organizations tend to make deals with airlines.

Thus, if a deal between Planned Parenthood and an airline exists that pretty much falls into the water-is-wet category of news.

I'm glad to see somebody gets it.

Yeah, they are trying to make a mountain out of a grain of sand.

(However, note that such discount codes sometimes are permitted fairly wide use. I have been told about and used a discount code from a place I was a customer.)

Why don’t you speak regarding context in the future, because that was not the guy’s point. Heck my company has ‘discounts’ with companies and we aren’t that big.

Yeah, imagine corporate volume discounts for corporate employees, who the fuck would have thought such exists....then >>

<<you show that you don't seem to get it. Do you think there are Planned Parenthood 'Memberships' like the NRA, AAA, or AARP?

Like "Hey, I like my Planned Parenthood membership cuz I get discounts at Walmart on Tuesdays, and I get discounts on my abortions too boot"?
Kind of like "I own guns and am a member of the NRA"; or "I'm over 55 and a member of AARP and like my discounts at IHOP"

And FWIW:

ThinkProgress reached out to Planned Parenthood for reaction to Williams’ comments. On Tuesday evening, the organization responded with a tweet saying, “Being a Planned Parenthood supporter doesn’t come with corporate perks and discounts. People stand with Planned Parenthood because they support reproductive health and rights.”
