However, I don't see that they are going to be Burger-King. One commonly refers to weddings that way even if the couple isn't going to take a hyphenated name.

Actually, a surprising number of couples don't do it on their wedding night anymore.
In the old days when they were virgins it almost always happened but now they're likely cohabiting before the ceremony, there isn't nearly the incentive. Combine this with a long day and often a lot of alcohol and not having sex on one's wedding night is becoming common.
