So because the target is the White House, it doesn't matter? Would you think the same if Obama was still in the White House?

It is far more shocking that a group of young men would plot to murder dozens (hundreds?) of people in a nearby town for their race and religion than that a loner would plan an attack on the White House for <reasons>.

I think the most shocking of all is that there is a place in New York called Islamberg. Is it run under Sharia law?

It is a FACT that the majority of terrorism in the US is homegrown, that the majority of homegrown terrorists are conservatives, and that the majority of conservatives are white.

The largest demographic of terrorists are white conservative natural-born citizens. I think a better question is why that *isn't* considered newsworthy?

I guess 9/11 was done by non-Muslims. I guess Weather Underground were conservative. I guess Black Panthers and BLA were white.

They had black powder. Hardly a high explosive. And I seriously doubt a place called "Islamberg" is unarmed...

The one guy had never fired a gun and had a "plan" (for lack of a better word) to attack one of the most secure locations on the planet which is guarded by highly trained agents specifically looking out for people wanting to do exactly what he was doing. That makes the potential danger level from the terrorists significantly higher.

So you are saying if he was smarter he would have gone after a company Christmas party or a marathon or a gay nightclub like some of his Islamic brethren have done recently?

Why is that more shocking to you? Plenty of places in the US have names based on religious beliefs, saints, and 'sacred' and 'holy' stuff.

You wondered why a thwarted terror attack against a group of black Muslims is more newsworthy than a single man planning to attack the White House. I pointed out obvious differences that makes the terrorists more alarming and their arrest more newsworthy, but I wonder why you even felt the need to ask.

Do you not understand that planned, coordinated terrorist attacks on communities are likely to result in a higher death toll than a lone wolf attack on government buildings, and are therefore of greater concern? Or do your online friends talk about their bombs, guns, and plans to attack blacks and Muslims so often that you don't really pay attention anymore, but if someone says he's going to attack the White House you sit up and take notice?
