HB 481: Georgia law criminalizes abortion, subjects women to life in prison.
And a woman who miscarries because of her own conduct—say, using drugs while pregnant—would be liable for second-degree murder, punishable by 10 to 30 years’ imprisonment. Prosecutors may interrogate women who miscarry to determine whether they can be held responsible; if they find evidence of culpability, they may charge, detain, and try these women for the death of their fetuses.
Will doctors have to report miscarriages as possible cases of negligent homicide? Will women have to periodically report to official pregnancy monitors to check on whether or not they are pregnant?

Even women who seek lawful abortions out of state may not escape punishment. If a Georgia resident plans to travel elsewhere to obtain an abortion, she may be charged with conspiracy to commit murder, punishable by 10 years’ imprisonment. An individual who helps a woman plan her trip to get an out-of-state abortion, or transports her to the clinic, may also be charged with conspiracy. These individuals, after all, are “conspiring” to end of the life of a “person” with “full legal recognition” under Georgia law.
Abortion tourism opens up a big can of worms. How would outlawing it be enforced? Will airports have to make their adult female passengers certify that they will not be trying to get abortions? Make those passengers get pregnancy tested? Will there have to be checkpoints on state lines for people who go by car or bus or train? Will women be especially suspect if they go to abortion-friendly states?

22 States are Extremely Hostile to Abortion | Guttmacher Institute -- Georgia is well within abortion-hostile territory, and the nearest abortion-friendly cities are Carbondale IL (pop 26K, 450 mi 7 h), Charleston WV (pop 48K, 500 mi 8 h), and Washington DC (metro pop 6M, 650 mi 10 h).

I can start caring about it when feminists like Toni start respecting my sexual rights. If abortion bans are prohibited based on penumbras and emanations, why is it any different for bans against consensual sex work?
If feminists support me getting jailed just for paying for some consensual sex, why should I care when women get pregnant by having unprotected sex? It's not like I was in any way responsible for those pregnancies.

That said, I expect even the Gorsuch-Kavenaugh court will nullify this law. It's pretty extreme.

Ohio passed the heart beat bill which is simply a wink nudge ban on abortion. They are going for Roe again.

And seriously Derec, you align with the pro-birth movement, people that would never remotely consider legalizing prostitution, out of hormonal spite? You do realize these people want to get rid of Griswold, right? Birth control and what not? Are you that narcissistically disinterested?

Alabama too, although I do not think that one passed yet. And yes, obviously all these laws will end up before SCOTUS.

I do not. I do support abortion rights in principle. But I can't find myself caring too much when the same people pushing abortion rights also tend to demand criminalization of hiring sex workers, as if privacy rights and emanations from the penumbras should only apply to abortion.

Not really, but I am kind of sick of supporting general liberal principles on issues like abortion and gay marriage and people that are affected by those issues (women, gays) generally not supporting legal sex work, even though the issues are governed by the same principles such as government not meddling in what an individual does with his or her body.

Maybe he just hates women that much.

Negative. It's the other way around: women like you and Toni hate me that much. Again: why should I care about women possibly going to jail for abortions when these same women want to lock me up for hiring a hooker?

I expect that the number of feminists who support you in legalizing prostitution is higher than the number of conservatives/pro-lifers who support you.
