How big a bang do we expect?

On the scale of the actual 'big bang'.. .it will be like a gnat crashing into a particle of dust.

It will be neither big nor will it bang, in cosmological terms. The exciting bit is not how 'big' it is, it is how it represents the power of Science... that predictions of the future can be made through observations of the present... and particularly, how subtle and distant the observation is and what we can expect to see.
