some of these accounts are so astonishingly active it boggles my mind. How do these folks have any time to make a living or even sleep?

I think that for the Alt-right that Ricky Vaughn https://twitter.com/Ricky_Vaughn99 is the shit king of the pile. 210k tweets (since Jan 2014) at all hours of the day and while he is insane in many ways he seems to have full contextual of every tweet he puts out and he is pushing a specific narrative. He makes Trausti look like a Piker, lol.

He also doesn't have a business or a youtube channel he is drumming up viewers for - his views are so out there that he would only have a very small youtube following and now his types of videos would have trouble because they wouldn't be "advertiser friendly".

I wonder if a rich white nationalist is funding him.
 
The "who's who" might be secret, but their existence isn't really. Product review shilling is as old as E-commerce, and the extension to the political realm was basically a natural extension of that.

In my experience, only Zionist posters seem to be organised by some central authority, though I doubt if most of them are actually paid - more a sort of duty to the Race, I think. There is obviously nothing in it for anyone on the left, who are also inclined to be independent-minded. The right-wingers certainly read as if they were working for someone, but I think that it is just that they are all brainwashed by the same people and are not good at thinking.

I would not doubt that someone like Ricky Vaughn would be paid by Russia. He does at times talk about Russia, but mostly he is a full on "ethno-nationalist" and his praise of Putin and the Visegrad countries show there.

A strong Visegrad region with no refugees and no non-European immigrants that is at loggerheads with the rest of the EU is what Russia wants. If it gets bad enough it might lead to the EU dissolving - but probably it is not likely.

At any rate, if it is the case of him being on payroll it is subtle enough for him not be seen as a plant/shill.

Also, if Russia is not paying subtle posters on the chans (4 and 8) I would be surprised. Seems their propaganda is more indirect than the Chinese.

I don't doubt it, but I haven't come across much evidence on sites I frequent. That evidence would suggest Hitler was still at it.
