"Sen. Sanders wants to dismantle Obamacare, dismantle the [Children's Health Insurance Program], dismantle Medicare, and dismantle private insurance," she said, according to an account from NBC News. "I worry if we give Republicans Democratic permission to do that, we'll go back to an era -- before we had the Affordable Care Act -- that would strip millions and millions and millions of people off their health insurance."

Also, Medicare, CHIP and private insurance.

Analysis: true.

Can his campaign survive this revelation?

every real progressive or liberal minded person wants to dismantle the ACA, it's an abominable hand-job to insurance companies.
sanders has a long standing solid track record of supporting UHC - so obviously getting rid of ACA would be part of implementing that.

this seems an especially retarded distortion of facts to try and sarcastically rabble-rouse, even for you.

tbf to dismal it was Hillary hiding behind Chelsea that was trying to rabble-rouse with this ridiculous attack.

Yes, he wants to 'dismantle' Medicare by making it available for everyone in the country. Strange way of using that verb, but her family has a history of applying nuance to the definition of verbs.

Please note the words I placed in boldface, above. Last I checked, Bernie Sanders is not a woman. So. who actually said this, if the quote is not directly attributable to Bernie Sanders? Let's look at the title of the article, and see if it contains any clues:

title from linked article said:
Chelsea Clinton Said Bernie Sanders Would Take Health Care From Millions

Ah, so it was Chelsea Clinton, and of course, one should expect her to accurately represent the position of her mother's political opponent, right? Let's see what the article has to say on that:

Like so many statements the Clinton campaign has made about Sanders position on health care, Chelsea’s contained some true statements -- and some wildly misleading implications.

So the article you quote even notes, in the third paragraph, which comes before the section you quoted, that she was being wildly misleading.

The facts are that Bernie actually voted for the ACA, however, both before and after doing so, he has been an advocate for single-payer health care. Of course, if single payer health care, or any other true UHC system were enacted in the US, there would be no need for the ACA. On the other hand, every US citizen would then have their health care covered. The article even mentions all of the above.

So, the next time you make a post telling us what Bernie wants to do, try using direct quotes from Bernie himself, or at the very least, try reading the entire article you link, and while you're at it, make at least some sort of an attempt to understand what that article says.

It's going to be a loooooong election cycle.

Given your high grasp of the article's content and implications it seems surprising you didn't notice I am not the one who made the claim.

Given your high grasp of the content of my post, it seems surprising that you did not notice that I specifically called out Chelsea Clinton as having made the claim. I even did so in rather large typeface.

I did, however, notice the following from your post:

Analysis: true.

When the analysis should have been: wildly misleading

Actually it would be better if you made the claim. It was Chelsea who made the claim, a person like you not putting herself on the line for election, one serving an interest by making a politically implosive claim. Oh you're not a ... ? Sorry. It would be better if you were.

True and wildly misleading are not necessarily incompatible. Especially for a Clinton.

I am just surprised to see you endorsing anything a Clinton has to say.

I wasn't even there. This is a news account that does not involve me.

But you were here, and your OP did involve only you spreading nonsense that you made more absurd by deliberately excluding the "Chelsea Clinton said" part of the headline in story.

Actually what's really surprising is the Huffington Post published this story without even mentioning me, given it's mostly a story about me.

The facts are that Bernie actually voted for the ACA,
So he was for it before he was against it. Can his campaign survive this revelation? ;)

Dude! The point of the thread was obviously to attack the Clintons, not to attack Sanders. Chill.

Well, it seems you have figured out my diabolical plan.

I figured the best way to prevent people from knowing Chelsea Clinton was out there saying this was to a) start a thread about Chelsea Clinton being out there saying it, b) include a Chelsea Clinton quote, c) provide a convenient link to an article whose headline says Chelsea Clinton is out there saying it featuring a giant picture of Chelsea Clinton.

Obviously I underestimated your ability to navigate that gauntlet and figure out it was Chelsea Clinton saying it.
