How about the people who are making those places into hellholes: Iran.
Whose duly democratically elected govt we ousted in the 1950's? Yes that worked out well didn't it. No, the apartheid state of Israel is genociding in Gaza and our radial public square beheading Islamist pals the Saudis are genociding in Yemen. We never miss an opportunity to participate in and/or profit from slaughter, and we're pretty much entitled to, on accounta we're so exceptional and all.

For the mobility challenged I suggest a trip that includes trains or ships to get there and to sightsee. Further, I suggest one keep day trips down to less than a mile walking or comfortable riding some operator driven device. Places with nice restaurants, deluxe lodging, and almost all services either pre-planned or available near or on site.
With those limitations I suggest one go where one has enjoyed visits previously or have friends and relatives nearby. Theme parks are meant for the young as are many cruise options. So I'd eliminate them more because you'll be disappointed in the park or access or excessive walking and plastic pleasures. the ones we taken were disappointments except when we had children. Then it all about enjoying the kids. Too crowed, too noisy, too plastic, too 1960s.
Personally I'd like to travel back to my family origins in country. That would be either Three Forks Montana at the headwaters of the Missouri where my great grandparents settled in the mid 1800s. There are some second and third cousins still there with whom I'd like to reconnect. One can get there by train and there is other service to Glacier Park and Yellowstone park. Its twenty minutes from lewis and Clark Caverns which my great uncle co-discovered back in 1905. It's rural and altitude freshened clear air peaceful.
An international trip would be a cruises to England, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Italy from where the other half of our families emigrated in the 1880s and the 1950s. I'd choose either Norwegian or Royal Caribbean cruise lines which cater more to the older traveler. Balcony cabins with great location for access to relaxation, disembarking, entertainment, and services and plenty of escorted motor tours and visit options. Even a few bus trips to scenic and get away visits during the cruises. And, of course eurorail with sleeping quarters.
Both of these options would actually be several trips tacked together after detailed planning with the aid of professionals with expected cost of about $12-15k per person. We're not young. So we need to take one week breaks between cruise and train adventures.
