BERKELEY, CA—Challenging long-held views on the origins of divinity, biologists at the University of California, Berkeley, presented findings Thursday that confirm God, the Almighty Creator of the Universe, evolved from an ancient chimpanzee deity.

The Onion has their science wrong, people as well as chimpanzees evolved from a common pre-cursor that wasn't a chimpanzee. But I guess that takes the fun out of it, doesn't it?

I believe it. Sure. That would explain Paul's Epistle to the Capuchins (Apocrypha) and Jesus' admonition in The Sayings of Jesus that, quote, Ye chatter that ye have picked a flea off your brother's back but ignore the tick on your own back.
