Netflix show, "Black Mirror" is a modern-day Twilight Zone that takes emerging trends in technology, and projects a (usually bleak) future of human society dominated by some impact of that technology... (i.e. an episode where "likes" in social networks becomes a form of currency - impacting society in dark ways).
Anyway, the first 4 seasons of the show have been absolutely fantastic. Smart, moving, provocative...
The 5th season has taken a turn... while the quality and richness of the episodes is fantastic (the recent one with Miley Cyrus playing a pop star named Ashley was so amazing - "Ashley Too" it was called), they seem to have settled on a single technology.
Every single one of this season's episodes is "stuck" on the same technology - mapping organic synapses onto neural networks (copying brains). Interesting topic, but I am very disappointed that it's the only one this season.
Anyone else fanatic about the show, but disappointed with the recent lack of diversity of topic?
