This is what privilege looks like. Does anybody really think a white male 18 year old would get away with threatening somebody with a knife, resisting arrest (several officers were injured in the process) and spitting on police?

What message does this send? That as long as you are black, you can act the fool and get away with it because many black people will instinctively take your side.

Other states have similar schemes for youthful offenders, allowing them to clear or keep their record clean in exchange for good behavior. I'm sure there are plenty examples of black privilege out there, e.g., Mizzou, but this ain't one of them.

Looks like something marvelous to me. All that’s needed is more second-chance opportunities and encouragement for more people.

No need to add “for whites too” until someone’s presented any evidence that black persons are favored.

Agreed. I rather like the idea for dealing with first offenses when it doesn't appear to be part of a pattern of crime.

You may be right, but it still looks like they caved to the demands of the activists. Charging decisions should not be subject to the heckler veto.
Also "restorative justice" is normally applied to minor crimes, which does not apply to this girl. Spitting on police is normally quite serious, as is threatening people with a deadly weapon.

But in the US blacks have always been fodder for the rich and still are. They are an easy target that can't defend themselves from the police and police intrusion.
