Black privilege: threaten people with a knife, resist arrest, spit on police, no charges

True. Like this girl assaulting police officer trying to arrest her.

Your racial hatreds blind to what is clearly seen.

The woman stood there and was assaulted by two men that were much larger than her.

It was a crime.

Or, it should be in a civilized nation of laws.

A knee to the abdomen is assault.

Those cops, like cops everyday in the police state known as the US, committed a crime.

But since it is a police state they will not be prosecuted.

No--the police are allowed to use force if necessary to accomplish their job.

They can use force when it necessary.

When their lives are in danger.

Not to teach some uppity black woman a lesson.

She committed battery against the officers causing them "soft-tissue injury" in addition to spitting on them.
What should the police have done? Let her injure them more? Retreat and let her go?

That video does not show to me or others what it shows to you. I can understand why the city might wish to avoid the expense and the gamble of a civil lawsuit - if they made a deal.

Oh no! A restorative justice program? The horror! That means that rehabilitation is being focused on instead of mere punishment! I simply cannot understand this, it is far too complex for me.

Derec understands it just fine as I reminded him about Zimmerman getting anger management therapy and his record expunged after he assaulted a police officer. He just wants to stop anyone from showing his inconsistencies by threatening it's a derail. He's got nothing now but his hobby horses.

What a fucking circus.

The first officer to restrain the woman (0:10) can't even do it properly, despite his massive size advantage; restraining and cuffing a woman that size should be easy.

When the second officer shows up (0:58), he only demonstrates that he has never been taught restraint-and-eviction--he attempts a feeble trip and then throws in a knee (WTF) before the other officer manages to down the takedown and they both throw their weight on her.

At this point (1:10) they had her restrained. Each officer had hold of an arm and it has just a matter of getting the cuffs on.

But officer #2 is not content with that: he throws this knee into her side three times and then punches her, because she is pinching him. He then tasers her repeatedly. Tasered into submission, the woman stop squirming and officer #1 finally gets the cuffs on.

Officer #2's actions between 1:02 and 1:43 are excessive in anyone's book, except for authoritarian followers like "I see nothing actionable" Derec who will defend anything a cop does, no matter how ridiculous and cruel.

The department needs to train its officers better so that they know how to perform something as rudimentary as restraint-and-eviction on people much smaller and weaker than themselves and know not to resort to such vicious tactics.

People should learn not to resist arrest. All of them. As if a woman of any other race would have been treated any differently.

Faith in selfless Unity for Good.

You don't even know what she is alleged to have done. There is a real problem with the assumption that a cop always has the right to arrest anybody for anything. That's what the cop thought that arrested Freddie Gray. These cops looked incompetent to me.

I agree that they displayed a lack of professionalism.

All the more reason to not resist.

Regardless of what I have or haven't done, I'm not going to resist. Good way to get shot. They should have tazed her before ever kneeing, or punching. That was uncalled for.

How can you justifiably assume that I know not what she was being arrested for? I can tell from the video that she was resisting which is a charge in itself.

Faith in selfless Unity for Good.

If a person has a knife, an arrest using the necessary amount of force may be necessary to quickly ensure the person is not a danger. At the same tie the program she is on is now quite common in the US, Canada and UK.

Here is a fast cut and paste.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restorative_justice
Restorative justice is an approach to justice that focuses on the needs of the victims and the offenders, as well as the involved community. This contrasts to more punitive approaches where the main aim is to punish the offender, or satisfy abstract legal principles.

Victims take an active role in the process. Meanwhile, offenders are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions, "to repair the harm they've done – by apologizing, returning stolen money, or community service".[1] In addition, the restorative justice approach aims to help the offender to avoid future offences.

The approach is based on a theory of justice that considers crime and wrongdoing to be an offence against an individual or community, rather than the State.[2]

Restorative justice that fosters dialogue between victim and offender has shown the highest rates of victim satisfaction and offender accountability.[3]

They can use reasonable force.

The police love to throw people to the ground and rough them up a little.

It is criminal. And only in a police state would it be tolerated.

Spitting on police is normally quite serious, as is threatening people with a deadly weapon.

How about shooting an unarmed man in the back 6 times while he is trying to flee? Is that a serious business?

How about shooting a man lying on the ground 14 times to make sure he is dead? Is that a serious business?

How about choking an unarmed man to death because he may have been selling loose cigarettes? Is that a serious business?

Why is there no outrage from you when black people are killed on the streets by bad cops? Take your hate somewhere else!

Even if your allegations are true, this is one instance.

The statistics show overwhelmingly that African-Americans are much, much more likely to be killed unfairly (and the killers get away with it) than the other way around, yet you are not complaining about the injustice of that, are you?

No, you are angry that your victims aren't being punished enough, and because things aren't as unjust as you would prefer, therefore white people are somehow being "oppressed."

What would it take for things to be "fair" for white people? Bring back lynch mobs? Would that make everything fair again?

The problem is that you don't understand what "reasonable" means in this context.

They are expected to meet force with a slightly higher level of force. Use force and you should expect to be thrown to the ground to ensure you don't use any more force.

The suspect is punched, kneed and then tazed while 2 police officers are sitting atop her with her arms pinned while she is face down. It is pretty clear who doesn't understand "reasonable" in this context.
