Black Republicans

We are on a 23-year countdown to the demise of Caucasian Numerical Dominance -- by 2042, there won't be a racial majority in the country. Expect all the Breitbart-style racial torque to get noisier and weepier as this happens. The GOP will either have to abandon Trump-Bannonism or fall completely apart.

If they were smart, they'd have started considering lighter-skinned Hispanic people "white" a while back. George Zimmerman offered them that on a silver platter - and even murdered a black kid for no reason just to make it clear - but they still insisted on tossing it out.

The Democrat Party needs to be careful not to fall into the trap being set before them too. Don't become the party that merely panders to minorities to get votes. Become the inclusive party of all and counter the bigots of the alt-right on that basis.

Basically, the thing they've been doing since 2000 (Clinton wasn't exactly the guy that tossed white people aside to favor black people - see welfare reform, his escalation of the War on Drugs), when Gore decided pledged to take police brutality seriously, at least.

It's not okay to be pro-minorities? Why is that?

"Pandering" to minorities is the same as pandering to regular people.

Wtf.

Just wait. As Caucasian Sunset gets deeper and becomes a prominent media meme, you'll see Paul Ryan types showing up for work in serapes. Santorum will get an Afro.

According to the chart in the link, over 90 percent of black people, and well over 50 percent of other minorities, including most minority women, and at about half of white women, vote for the Democrats. So, it makes good sense that the party would make their needs the main priority.

The majority of the Republican party is made up of white Christian men, especially older white men, so there's really not much chance that the Democrats are going to attract that group. The fact is that people who identify as Democrats almost always embrace diversity. That's one of the more positive things about the Democratic party. So, we really don't need to worry about any backlash regarding making diversity an important issue.

Unless the Republicans change their ways, they will become the party of white Christians, and not much else. If anything, the Democratic party needs to do more, not less for ethnic minorities and women, as they are their primary supporters. Plus, black people, especially younger black people, don't vote as regularly as white people, so it only makes good sense to reach out to them and not take them for granted. This is especially true of black women, who are rapidly becoming the backbone of the Dam party, especially in the south. Most of my older black female friends vote in every election, but there are still a good percentage of black folks that skip the midterms. So, why not make them a priority. White people like me certainly are't going to become Republicans if Dems make it a priority to reach out to minorities. I know a few white Republicans. Nothing in the world is going to bring them over to the other side.

Doing so would have been parallel with what happened with Irish, Italian, and Eastern European immigrants over the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

One might even imagine Republicans doing such crude demagoguery as "While you were picking vegetables in the fields, you-know-who were sitting on their big fat rear ends watching TV in their air-conditioned apartments."
