Blatant military coup in Bolivia

HeeHee. It is all the fault of the USA.

South American culture is more derived from Spain and Portugal than the USA or western Europe.

The colonial aristocracy controlled land. Neither indigenous peasants or lower status colonials could own land.

Contrasted to colonial America where people acquired land without a title or status. Self rule grew from the ground up. The native empires were slave based and violent. Self rule and stable transfer of power is not in the cu8tural DNA.

In SA they do not have elections, they have coups.

Continuing o bkame the USA and the west for troubles in Central.South America is weak at this point in time.

Castro renigued on a promise of democracy and allied with Russia, and became a Russian welfare stae. When the So viet Union collapsed Cuba tanked.

The state of Venezuela today has nothing to do with the west. Over two regimes western assets and investments were nationalized and unsustainable social programs destroyed the economy. There's communism and socialism for you.

Today people and leaders have a choice. It has nothing to do with the past. Land reform remains an issue.

Ecuador and Venezuela illustrate the utter incompetence of South American leaders.

In the 70s and 80s before Internet I listened to shortwave radio broadcasts from America, England, France, Russia, China and other places.

The OP has the feel of a crafted and scripted polished propaganda piece.

I hate it when people claim things without backing them up.

Bolivia apparently, has seen a substantial reduction in poverty since 2005. GDP growth has been pretty good.

Of course, with Bolivia being located in South America, we don't know anything about anything in the nation, especially because there is no World Cup or Olympics occurring there. There was a referendum after Morales won a third term to see if there should be term limits. The referendum passed, however, was overruled by the nation's largest court.

Morales and Bolivia... and American sentiment, seem to be running a familiar course.

Familiar indeed, re: Cuba, Venezuela, Honduras, Nicaragua, Chile...

There is a Spanish language Central/South American CNN channel and site. I know enough Spanish to pick out details on the audio. I have used a translator to read the online reporting.
