Brexit still not decided

I'm sorry to tell you the truth, but you can't stop internationalism. You can't. You can lie to people like Trump and tell them that it's possible to reverse the trend. It's possible to move inward. Bring back all those blue collar $150,000 factory jobs that never change and don't require additional skills. Bring back the 50s! Or you can live in the real world. You can tell people the truth: that the world is flat today. It's all about technology and the information age. You can build Trump's wall but it won't stop this. But if you can embrace change, always look to get better, learn new skills, take advantage of the information, you can do well. The younger people in England see this. Brexit is going to split the UK apart into people who accept reality and want to be a part of it's success and those who stick their heads in the sands and live in fantasy land.
You are wrong.

It was not some law of thermodynamics that caused jobs and prosperity to flee from rural England and rust belt US.. This was accomplished through human agency. It was willful plutocrat decisions made by men and women causing these issues. And not some mysterious artifact that has to accompany international trade. Regardless of what you may hear from the controlled media narrative.

And as far as young people are concerned, they're not doing so great either. At least not in the US where many of them have racked up piles of student debt and cant find a job that they have spend years of education to prepare for. Its not a matter of being able to adapt and accept change. Its a matter of not tolerating any more crap from the elite plutocrats.

No, I'm right. I'm sorry that you have to learn the truth from me. The dishonest politicians are telling older white guys that it's possible to return to good old days when only white American could produce anything because the rest of the world had been wrecked from WW2. They want your vote. But those jobs and the privileged positions that they had aren't coming back. We need to teach our kids that the world is now flat due to technology. The rise of computers with fiber optics coupled with work flow software and iphones means that people in the west are now competing with kids in India, Asia and Africa. In order to survive, we need to teach our kids that they need to be flexible, embrace change, work hard, and be international. People that can't keep up with technology and diversity and etc are going to fall behind. This is reality. And this is why the republicans their MAGA hats bullshit will lose in the future.

Well the EU has granted a three month extension for the UK to get its act together. What a farce.

Johnson wants an early election because it worked so well for PM May. Labour Leader Corbyn noted he would be good with an early election as long as Brexit got the delay. Now with the delay (deep into next January) is in hand (as a minute or two ago), he is balking because he fears the heavy EPL schedule in December will reduce turnout (I'm paraphrasing).

Johnson laughs and says Labour looks stupid. The globe laughs at irony.

The funny thing with a new election is that there are only two viable outcomes that can lead to a final plan...

Labour tears Tories a new one... no Brexit.
Conservatives win a majority... fine, let's Brexit.

But the most likely turn of events would be minority Government... with absolutely no Brexit mandate. The insanity is having an election that is a referendum on Brexit... without it actually just being a fucking referendum on Brexit! Goodness the UK continues to fall because of its Government and its people that send this Government to London.

The only mature solution is a second vote, seeing the first one really didn't have much legal power behind it until the Conservatives gave it that. Vote on the actual deal. Granted, the results of that vote should require a little more than a bare majority due to the significance of the proposal. Then the UK government stands by the people's vote.

Corbyn says he wants a no-deal Brexit off the table before agreeing to an election. But I'm not sure you could ever trust anything Johnson promises even if it's been made law.

So now Corbyn is backing an election, it would be the first in December in decades.

Can anybody explain why the bill they are debating would only take a simple majority when before it was going to take 2/3 to pass an election bill?

It looks like the 2/3's vote gets an election with set rules. The 50%+1 would allow amendments to modify the rules for the election.
BBC said:
Mr Burgon said Labour would be pushing to get votes for 16 and 17-year-olds, as well as EU nationals so they can have their say.

As I noted prior, it seems crazy to have an election that is a metaphorical referendum on Brexit... instead of having an ACTUAL referendum on Brexit.
