LONDON, UK -- The British Civil Aviation Authority has announced it has banned the flights of all Boeing 737 Maxes in UK airspace. This ban includes all 737 Max models, not just the Max 8's that have experienced two airborne dysfunctions in the past 6 months that led to the deaths of all people in the flights.
The military has indicated that it will use any means necessary to protect the UK from generally properly functioning aircrafts, and will shoot down any 737 Max flight it detects in UK airspace. Flaming wreckage tens kilometers west of Liverpool were uploaded on to Twitter, possibly a sign of an already downed plane.
Flights on route from other nations using 737 Maxes quickly turned around to seek other airports in order to not be destroyed.
The British military did not respond to questions regarding whether air to air or surface to air means would be used to down 737 Maxes.
Boeing released a message stating: “Safety is Boeing’s number one priority and we have full confidence in the safety of the MAX that haven't crashed. Most people that have flied on the 737 Max 8 have not died and are living fulfilled and happy lives. We understand that regulatory agencies and customers have made decisions that they believe are most appropriate for their home markets such as potentially risking their lives. We’ll continue to engage in window dressing and blowing smoke with all of them to ensure they have the information they need to have confidence in operating their fleets that are overall and generally effective in completing flights safely. We want to applaud the bravery of the pilots, staff, and passengers that want to continue flying in our planes.”
