BarbWire contributor Dr. Don Boys, a former Indiana legislator who thinks homosexuality is a crime worth a twelve-year jail sentence, recently wrote that Brett Kavanaugh was innocent of the sexual assault of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford for a simple reason: She never screamed about it.

By his logic, “No scream, no rape.”

Then you misunderstand jokes.

Humor is a defense mechanism. The worse something is, the more a defense mechanism is needed.

I used to work with nuclear weapons aimed at my own planet. We had some prety horrible jokes. I also worked on a suicide crisis hotline. The jokes and anecdotes we told there drove most of my nuke-weapon coworkers out of a room.

Not the one who volunteered as an ambulance worker, usually asking for nights of the full moon. His anecdotes ("...but we never found the other eyeball, h-yuck, h-yuck, h-yuck...") drove me from the room.
