nimoy officially retired from acting years and years ago, aside from his cameos in those god awful "star trek" reboots, he wasn't doing anything.
and the only thing lee has done in the last 15 years of any note is the LOTR movies, which are finished.

Bloody hell. Whats wrong with you? Lee was great actor still working when he died and you just said it doesnt matter...

i really don't think it is - i just don't understand the idolatry of celebrity deaths, especially when it's someone who hasn't done anything in a while.

Mark Hamill's career pretty much died after Star Wars

except that it totally hasn't, at all.
his film acting career died off, sure, but he's become a very prolific voice actor in cartoons and video games: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000434/?ref_=nv_sr_1
if he were to suddenly drop dead that would have a big impact on several currently in-progress franchises.

You have overlooked his appearances in the SW prequels, or you don't think the prequels were "of note". Actually some fans of SW:TOS would probably agree with the latter proposition.
