And how many points did the 49'er defense give up in that run?

He showed great courage in the face of incredible ignorance for one thing.
Great courage? Really? Did he quit his NFL career to join the military and I missed it? No, that was Pat Tillman.
It doesn't take much courage to protest America in the United States.

If you have to ask, you likely wouldn't understand if it was explained to you.
It is likely this stance and #BLM that a few officers are going to jail over the criminal killing of a civilian. Otherwise, they very well may have gotten away with them.

A kneeling fuck you to the anthem ... courage.

Flying planes into buildings ... cowardess.

My how times have changed!

You are ignorant of many facts. And have strange interpretations of things.

The brave man at first sat during the anthem.

It was a person in the military that told him that sitting was disrespectful and he should kneel because that is a posture of respect. It says fuck you only to the very deluded and sick.

Actually, I don't think Kaepernick ever thought that kneeling during the anthem would create such a stir.

Flying planes into buildings ... cowardess.
According to the W White House. Bill Maher lost his ABC program when he suggested otherwise, that such a thing wasn't cowardice.

My how times have changed!
Not really, right-wingers have always been making bad observations.

I've refused to stand for the anthem or flag pledge since the Viet Nam War. The anthem glorifies war. We never should have gotten involved in the Viet Nam War. It still disgusts me to this day, and I applaud anyone that protests the wrong doings of my country, whether it be due to racism or unnecessary wars. Nobody should ever be criticized for refusing to say the pledge or stand for the anthem. We have this thing called free speech in this country. Protesting peacefully something that you think is immoral is a perfect example of the exercise of free speech. You have the right to stand for the anthem and I have just as much right to refuse to do so.

Unfortunately, it does take courage to protest things that the majority may not agree with, and it shouldn't be that way.

That doesn't fall on deaf ears.

Win-Loss records mean less than nothing when it comes to evaluating QBs or any individual player, which is why no coach or GM pays any attention to that stat when drafting and recruiting players.

His Quarterback rating for 2016 was 17th, ahead of 12 QBs who have started games this year and 1 who started last year and is currently a backup QB.

He accomplished this despite having an terrible coach who lasted 4 years in the NFL, a below average running back, one of the worst offensive lines, and no good receivers (only 1 ranked above 125th and he was ranked 49th and out of the 90 receivers who caught more than 50 passes, he was 1 of only 5 who fumbled 4 or more times.).

IOW, the actual QB relevant stats alone suggest he was a better bet than about 1/3 of the people given starting QB jobs the next year, and adjusting for the terrible coaches and players around him suggests that he was a better bet than about half the QBs who started in 2017.

It is beyond reasonable doubt that he would have made millions on an NFL roster if not for his politics.

That said, he does not deserve an award, except maybe from the Young Republicans for helping to get Trump elected by encourage liberals and leftists not to vote. His method of protest has been more of a distraction than anything for the cause of bringing attention to police brutality.

Why don't shows of courage for a good cause that cost you millions deserve awards?

He is trying to reign in the power of the state which is shooting unarmed people in the streets.

The state needs to pull back and stop this. Make it totally unacceptable.

The state needs to stop what? Who should give him an award? Again, I think that he's pretty courageous. He probably could have gotten a mid to lower level longer contract. His political stance cost him some money. But not sure what the government should do.

Colin was an average to okay QB. The problem is that the league really changed for him. He has a great arm and is very athletic. But the game has changed. DBs are so good that they defend the receiver. It's good enough to be able to throw to an open receiver. No one is open anymore. You have to be accurate and throw to a spot in anticipation of the receiver getting there. And that's not Colin's game.

He probably could have gotten a decent backup job. However, teams want backups who fit the culture and are willing to support the starter. You can't be a maverick and a backup.

So maybe overturn the right of an accused to face a jury?

This isn't a change at all. Leading your receivers has always been a requirement for a quarterback. And WRs have also gained in athletic ability, from Lance Alworth to Lynn Swann to Jerry Rice to Michael Irvin to Randy Moss to Calvin Johnson -- the progression of athleticism on both sides of the ball has been ongoing.

Indeed, the major changes in the league over the last two decades have been rules favoring passing offense and the high scores which draw in viewers.
