Could it be we were in error?

I didn't not-vote-for Romney.
All else being equal i would definitely vote-AGAINST Romney in anything down to and including a city dog-catcher race.

I think Mitt is more qualified to POTUS than a dog-catcher given his treatment of his family dog on that vacation.
That just means he can double the capacity of the truck without buying a bigger truck.
More bark for your buck!

Is there much a history of this in the US Republican party? People running in the general election, being defeated, and be selected to run again?

Richard Nixon is a recent example. He lost to JFK in 1960 but took the White House in 1968.

That would be frigging AWESOME!!!!!

Clinton is going to breeze through the Dem primary and into the White House. The next US election was not looking to be interesting or engaging. Having Romney back in the mix could make for another long and drawn out GOP primary with a line-up of ever more incompetent buttheads taking a week in the sun as the next Great White Hope who'll take the standard for the forces of crazy and scratch more and more off the thin veneer of civility that the Republicans pretend they have and parading their lunacy all over the networks.

With a little bit of luck, it'll be as funny as last time.

Ah, isn't this inspirational!

A member of the aristocracy has told us how wrong we were to not elect him, and how he is giving us the opportunity to correct our horrible mistake! Isn't that magnanimous of him? This is why were are right to worship the aristocracy. Those stupid commie freedom-hating bastards only care about the commoners, and their unending hatred of the aristocracy will be the undoing of our civilization! They must be stopped! Obama surrounded himself with corporatist DLC Clinton toadies. Do you think putting an actual Clinton in the White House will improve that?

Of it will be an improvement. After 8 years, the jokes are getting stale. Now we will have opportunities for fresh jokes, plus as a bonus we can re-hash some 1990 jokes.

No, I'm saying that she'll be the next US President. The implications of that are irrelevant to the inevitability of that.

I'n sticking to my guns and saying that she won't run.

Gotta admit though, her hiring campaign staff just as a diversion shows commitment.

Dewey lost to FDR and Truman. Adlai Stevenson (Democrat) lost to Eisenhower twice.

Good. The more GOP candidates in the ring the more money they waste and the more disgusting they make themselves look.
