Could this be why His Flatulence thinks the virus came from the lab?

It's equally likely someone walked up to Trump and said, "Oggle boggle mark mark lark Chyyyyyna oggle boggle loggle doggle corona", whilst wearing a lab coat and Trump just associated China with coronavirus because they were the two words he recognized.

But the most probable outcome is that he heard Glen Beck, Alex Jones or OAN mention it as a hypothetical and he leapt at it.

This is what is so frustrating about Trump---- people's TDS reactions to him. He is a fucking retard, so there is not need to counter his loony assertions. If you do reflexively and shut down all mental processes of the topic he spouted about that is not good.

According to experts who have analyzed the genome of Covid-19 it has not been "splice engineered" because it does not have the tell tale signs of that.

But could it have been a case where for legitimate reasons of study strains 1,2,3 and 4 of various coronaviruses were placed alone or in combination in tissue culture of species A, B, C and D? Then let the virus scramble itself up and test "gain of function" it may have acquired.

Most of what it took for the black plague to kick off was the loss of a protein in the ancestor strain that made a slimy mess in the lungs. Then the bacteria could get coughed out more easily and spread much more quickly.

It's not TDS to ignore Trump when he talks about things he knows nothing about. It IS TDS to believe Trump when he talks about things he knows nothing about. Even after he has JUST been briefed by experts regarding academic fields of knowledge, he recounts the information he learns poorly or falsely. (He's both an idiot AND a liar.)

Of course, China might have had an accident and released this virus just the way Trump thinks it did... BUT... There is still no evidence that happened, just like Russel's teapot orbiting the sun. We all know why Trump wants that to be what happened. He thrives on two things, taking credit for other people's work and distracting from his failures with scapegoats. But for people more interested in the TRUTH there still remains no good reason to think this happened.

As you cluelessly just pointed out, random mutations in viruses happen which change their symptoms spontaneously in the wild. IN THE WILD. You know that place where MILLIONS of bats and other animals in China are infected with dozens of versions of corona-viruses right now? Probability.

So the rats things was a bad rap? What about fleas and lice as vectors?

ok, some gain of genes but more loss of genes

It's an interesting subject.

"Interestingly, the only gene YP gained allows it to sit instead in the midgut and foregut of the flea, closer to the mouth."

Lethality is okay for a virus only if its host species is so overpopulated that they can't help passing it around. That's how it was in cities back then, and it's what will take a toll now globally.

The virus came from bats.. as a matter of fact, most corona viruses circulate in the bat community until an intermediate species (a flee, tick, mosquito, etc..) passes the virus to a human and the virus happens to be capable of reproducing and spreading within the human community. That's how all of the corona viruses that have jumped species have made it to humans.
That's how the pandemic of 1917 (or thereabouts) that was called the Spanish Flu worked as well - just a different animal. It was neither Spanish nor a flu. It started in Kentucky from an infected pig that was able to infect a pig farmer that then enlisted in the war (WWI) and spread it throughout the world through our military deployments. Only Spain was neutral during this time and was reporting a bad sickness spreading. The countries at war didn't talk about it... so, it was considered Spain's flu, even though it was America's Swine Flu.
