Covid-19 miscellany

They are absolutely fighting for the right to carry infectious diseases across the border.

If it is immigrants coming over the Mexican border to become US citizens then Tucker will certainly warn you they are bringing diseases here, and blame them for COVID spikes. But anti-vax protesters that are against government rules and mandates? FREEEEEEEDDDUUUUUUMMMM!!!!

With protestors blockading the border bridge PM Justin Trudeau publicly announces he is considering the "nuclear option" to disperse the trucker protests, blasting Justin Bieber music. The Prime Minister says he is reviewing all possible options available that wouldn't require going nuclear, but the protestors have indicated they have no intent of leaving any time soon. This might force the PM's hand, though it is expected that he might start slowly with Anne Murray before escalating it up to a point of no return. Neil Young has reportedly offered his services to help disperse the protest by playing feedback into a microphone for hours on end.

The idea that being anti-mandate makes you a bioterrorist is the kind of absurdity I can't ever predict coming from you, but it always seems obvious afterwards that that's exactly what you'd think.
THERE IS NO VACCINE MANDATE FOR ALMOST ALL PEOPLE IN NORTH AMERICA!

Currently it is workers where spread is an issue, health care and people who can help transmit the virus across national borders. And this isn't about a "mandate", it is about just about every mitigation effort for dealing with the pandemic, masks, distancing, public events, etc...

Monster movies are going to be so weird in the future.... The threshold of disbelief won't be any higher, but it will have odd angles.

All the characters that don't believe in the (werewolf, vampire, mummy, alien, telemarketer, serial killer, giant alien zombie were-spiders) until they're attacked, THEN accept the reality, though usually fatally tardy? Gone, the same way, and to the same place, as the phrase 'avoid it like the plague.' 'Cuz humans don't do that.

Now, it won't be realistic unless the victim refuses to convert even on direct eyewitness evidence, including blood and pain. For it to be believable, anyone who didn't immediately accept the protagonist's warnings must remain entrenched in disbelief. As the werewolf devours his intestines, he insists that it's not real, that he can see the zipper in the fur, and refuses to use the silver dagger the hero gave him, because that's just 'playing into the myth.'

No wonder so many people opt for private or homeschooling;

The Los Angeles Unified School District voted to revamp their online schools for 20,000 unvaccinated students who will not be allowed to attend in-person classes in the fall. “We know additionally that when the vaccine mandate kicks in for age-eligible students 12 and up, we will have a new pool of students that we will need to be prepared to serve,” said Chief of Schools David Baca. Currently, there are 18,000 students in the district’s online program, 10 times the yearly average of 1,800. The district could create up to six new online schools to accommodate the unvaccinated students who will not be allowed to attend in-person classes once the new school year begins. The district approved a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for those 12 and older which over 90% of students have complied to. The original deadline to comply with the mandate was set for January but was pushed back to the fall of 2022.

I really, honestly WISH I could argue with any of this but I can't. There's a painful reality here.

The thing is, being religiously blind is not something that those of named religions have a corner on.

There can be blind theists, there can be blind atheists. Anyone can be blinded and so can I.

And so I seek to learn how to clear my vision, and still afford people the respect and privacy they deserve free from unreasonable ogling.

To be fair, there is clearly at least 20-40k cases of child abuse going on here. Parents are abusing their children by depriving them of their ability to safely engage school with their peers.

To be clear, the abuse is by the anti-vaxxers, not the school district protecting it's students.

How did some of this make it to air?

The SIRVA stuff is legit, but heartstring pulling anecdotal evidence like that poor daughter is not good - from either a pro or anti vax side.

I am not anti vax, but the vax me harder daddy people are ridiculous. Get me an omicron booster and I will take it. Two year old vaccine, fuck off.

And so I seek to learn how to clear my vision, and still afford people the respect and privacy they deserve free from unreasonable ogling.
People deserve respect.
Ideas do not. Ideas need bright lights shined on them and if they're hollow bullshit, it needs to be pointed out.
Behavior, esp. if it threatens others, needs even brighter lights shined upon it.

As to ogling, opinions are like assholes. No one knows what yours is like unless you air it.

You can say you are not anti-vax, but you venture in exclusively peddling bullshit.

The abuse refers to the LAUSD denying children access to in person tuition based on their obsession with vaccine mandates. LAUSD (possibly the worst school district in the country) have been awful throughout this pandemic.

Oh, I mean more, there's a consistent ideological conflict that exists between me and certain others as regards using the abilities one has so to see to see into the lives of others things which they are making every effort to pull out of their social reality. This is what I refuse to ogle.

When people loudly and visibly do some thing, as regards behavior intended to be seen though perhaps not for what it actually is, that is when the eye snaps open and I say all the quiet parts loudly.

What about the children who are in school and are vaccinated. Do they not have any rights?

That was an evasion. What about the other vaccine mandates? Covid-19 isn't the only shot. A bunch of grumpy 3 to 7 year olds can attest to that.

No it wasn't. The child abuse is denying 20,000 kids access to in person tuition.
