Meet The Dark Enlightenment: sophisticated neo-fascism that's spreading fast on the net

By Jamie Bartlett Politics and tech Last updated: January 20th, 2014

....
Since 2012 a sophisticated but bizarre online neo-fascist movement has been growing fast. It’s called "The Dark Enlightenment". Its modus operandi is well suited to a digital society. Supporters are dotted all over the world, connected via a handful of blogs and chat rooms. Its adherents are clever, angry white men patiently awaiting the collapse of civilisation, and a return to some kind of futuristic, ethno-centric feudalism.

It started, suitably enough, with two blogs. Mencius Moldbug, a prolific blogger and computer whizz from San Francisco, and Nick Land, an eccentric British philosopher (previously co-founder of Warwick University’s Cybernetic Culture Research Unit) who in 2012 wrote the eponymous "The Dark Enlightenment", as a series of posts on his site. You can find them all here.

The philosophy, difficult to pin down exactly, is a loose collection of neo-reactionary ideas, meaning a rejection of most modern thinking: democracy, liberty, and equality.

If they're "patiently awaiting" it, and think they can convince a large enough majority via words, I'm happy for them. Or rather, I'm happy for me, because I feel confident the population won't ever buy their cray-cray. If they intend to violently overthrow it, then I'm worried.

They will either remain a small but vociferous oddity, or possibly some charismatic kook ala Lyndon La Rouche will arise to cause a certain amount of trouble. I doubt that they can arise to the pestiferousness of the Tea Party. There have been in the past a few rather grimmly satirical booklets published preaching the rise of an elite organization to establish a world wide slave economy, this reminded me of such satires. (See World Power Foundation)

I get the hint from the article this "Dark Enlightenment" is mostly aimed at the typical targets of Nazi regimes of the past...and add in women. As for the emergence of a world wide slave economy...that IS HAPPENING and it isn't one organization but many. The internet offers increased possibilities for corporate fusion and power. The people actually harming us today are what could be called old money. Super rich people like the Koch Bros. obviously feel they deserve to rule it all. They are spending millions to realize their fervent dreams...high carbon. high profit, amd higher levels of general human misery.

If the average man knew their thoughts...what do you think we would have? Possibly a violent revolution. Wealth inequality and political inequality are both grave threats to democracy.narc graf.jpg
