Define God

Despite his money and fame Trump also is fundamentally unhappy. He takes it out on others.

Like most MAGAots, the guy in the vid wasn't paying attention.
It isn't a conservative/libral thing.
It's a matter of degree.
I don't know (or care) what your beef with Budwiser is.
But Bud didn't destroy government institutions and put tens of thousands of people out of work.
Such things cause open revolt in any society. Confining the dammage to just Tesla shows self restraint.

'Conservatives boycott Budwiser but librals go ISIS on Tesla'
HA. :realitycheck:
Conservatives loose an election, so they trash the capitol.
Nobody can explain to me what liberal or conservative means in the modern USA.

I think that competent human beings should grow up enough to understand themselves, then find a compatible mate, get married and stay married, and the state should recognize their relationship.
Including gay human beings.
Is that liberal or conservative?
I believe in This Nation of Immigrants, as exemplified in the Statue of Liberty. I want the government to come up with a plan for a competent and humane immigration system. Does that make me a conservative or a liberal?

A bit off topic.

But, recently pro Palestinian protestors occupied an engineering building on the UW campus and did over a million dollars in damage. Set the building on fire. Boeing helped fund the new building. Protestors demanded the UW sever ties with Boeing because Boeing sells arms to Israel.

Hate speech, harassment, and anti Jew graffiti on campus.

So much for rule of law on the left. The Black Bloc was there in their black Ninja clothes and masks. The Block Bloc shows up e\very year trying to provoke excessive police response and throng rocks and fire bobs.

In Seattle we suffered over a year of anarchy from the left protestors against the police. Reporters were harassed and kicked out of the CHOP zone, a declared independent area controlled by armed protestors. There was no free speech in the zone.

Our progressive mayor at the time kept making excuses for the anarchy.'

In some ways the extreme left is more outrageous than the extreme right. I rememberr the Weathermen.

And of course Biden who tried to wipe out student loan debt with executive order, which he had no authority to do, And his pardons.

I do not see much difference between the left and right in what they do.

The view form the independent center.

Define God. Simple request. What is a god? Simple question, simple answers. Define what a god is. This should be pinned. to the top of this forum on Existence of God(s) IMHO.:slowclap:
God - A theist's convenient solution to the problems they invented.
No.
Such a succinct reply! "No." I'll do you better. YES! (<--- all caps and an exclamation point)

God is an informercial solution, to solve problems that aren't real, to resolve shortcomings that only exist due to our incomplete understanding of the universe and nature. The imaginary answer to solve the infinite regress or original origin problem... because due to its awesome properties, it doesn't have to abide by those same rules and laws. How convenient. :)

Grifting.
Don't forget grifting.
How long would any religious organization last if the marks didn't give to God's Official Spokesmen here on earth?

No. That's politics and to a lesser extent, religion. God is anything you want it to be.

No. It has to abide by the rules, you don't. See?

For me it is about descriptors that match observation. We are imbedded in the system. Whatever we have, it seems that the system has more of. "Alive" seems to match best. "Not alive" is clearly less reliable in that is doesn't match the system better than alive. "God", is the more complex system that we are embedded in. "God" is what some people call the aliveness that they feel connected too.

That's just an observation based belief I have. I am always willing to evaluate the reliability of the blind faith statement of "Their is no god or gods of any type" against it.

Define the words "football game": Simple question, simple answers. To me, it is how we use this notion that determines if it healthy for us or not.

... Albert Einstein said If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.
Albert Einstein was a human fully capable of saying stupid and ignorant shit.

Maybe. But his claim above was NOT "stupid and ignorant shit."
To the contrary, impugning Professor Einstein in this fashion is a way to lose credibility.

Meanwhile, somebody bumped the thread or something causing me to click, so the first few posts in the thread came into view. But with no enlightenment on offer, I couldn't bear to continue after the quoted exchange.

The thread went on for another 200 posts, not even counting the above-linked previous thread. Did opinion ever converge to an agreed definition? Twenty-five words or less, please.

I disagree. Some things have been proven to be impossible to communicate or "prove" in "easy" or "uncomplicated" ways.

Some things require some rather complicated context to show, and "simply" there ends up being a rather relative term.

god is a hetero male
god is a hetero female
god is a homosexual
god is a lesbian
god has no sex
god is the universe
god lives on a far away mountain
god is above the sky

god exists but we don’t know what it is

god is a he-she

Several mythologies feature deities with both male and female characteristics, often representing balance, fertility, or androgyny. Examples include Hermaphroditus in Greek mythology, Ardhanarishvara in Hindu tradition, and even some interpretations of Shiva and Parvati. These deities often symbolize the interconnectedness of masculine and feminine energies, or the concept of a unified, balanced whole.

In case I missed one, god is ...(fill in the blanks)

I like to picture a future civilization where this determined search for a definition of god/God is just too damn silly for words. Where there are no more televangelists or divinity schools. Or politicians telling you their religious musings.
The fun part is that freethinkers can have that situation in their own lives now.
