Define God

DLH

Om a personal level if you believe in a Moon god and get naked at night howling at the moon no problem with me.

If you come to the forum and start telling us your Moon god is real and inspires scripture that we should follow that is another matter.

" To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles ..... "

More insight in Shakespeare than the bible.

This is a mostly an atheist forum with many having a grounding in science. When you post be prepared to dodge all those slings and arrows.

Atheist is not an ideology, it is a rejection of claims of the existence of gods. An individual atheist can have any number of philosophical, mystical, or other beliefs that do not involve gods.

I generally go by Naturalism. In short anything that exists by definition is natural. There can be no supranational.

"Far from going to the stake for a Great Truth, I wouldn't miss a meal for it."

I'm in total agreement. Fuck science.
Religion does not grow food, make electricity, provide drinking water, create vaccinations and medications, make your car go, and make the Internet work.

Without the steady progress of science we would all be like the ancient Hebrew tribes, Camel jockeys herding sheep and goats, and making animal sacrifice.

Fuck science -- I guess you'll ask a holy man to lay hands on you, if you get liver cancer (he'll call it a visitation of evil spirits... or a mental illusion, if he's CS.)

I once got invited to a private Evangelical meeting. Part of it was laying hands. The guy who invitedme did not like doctors and traveled to a faith healing center somewhere in Northern Califo9rnia.

In line with the argument mode....
...neither does 'atheism' grow food, make electricity, etc & etc..

Don;t see your point here. Yet again atheism is not an ideology, it is a rejection of theism. An individual atheist can have any number of belies.

The age old saying is 'philosophy bakes no n bread'.

Science requires rational objective thinking. Newton one of the greatest scientists of all times was Christian and held contrary views on the Trinity. He resorted to god of the gaps for things he colld not figure out.

I worked with fundamentalist creationist Christian engineers who were very good. They compartmentalized religion and science.

Religion and science are not incompatible in general. The trouble is when theists like DLH think science is in he way of faith.

There is an anti science bias in Christianity. I have heard on Christian TV and radio, and on FOX, 'atheist science is out to destroy religion'.

Obviously evolution conflicts with literal creationists who think the human race began with Adam and Eve.

DLH frustrated unable to make any headway here boiled over and exclaimed 'I hate science'.

If you really believe how can anything I or any atheist say upset you?

If my saying I reject any and all gods and your beliefs throws you into a tailspin your faith is not worth very much.

A healthy faith is supposed to stabilize you.

Om a personal level if you believe in a Moon god and get naked at night howling at the moon no problem with me.

Bullshit. It's only a question of whether you are too stupid to know it or you're lying to yourself and everyone else. But who cares? I do not beyond an almost insatiable curiosity. I figured that shit out with idiot atheists a long, long time ago. This is apparent. Earlier I stated the obvious, atheists and theists are both delusional. Each one convinced the other is and so continuing ever to find reason to believe, or not believe. Same bullshit.

Ideological fixation must include narcissisms, dishonesty and hypocrisy. Never fairness, tolerance or objectivity.

If you come to the forum and start telling us your Moon god is real and inspires scripture that we should follow that is another matter.

My message, from day one, has only been the opposite; this is how I know that the subject is strictly the ideological fixation of two equally delusional parties. The continuing sociopolitical dispute between idiots that is humans being. Without even the sense of an animal knowing his survival depends upon restraint.

My message:

1. All organized religions are true and false, all corrupt and loathsome and should be banned beyond individual beliefs and practice. This also applies to science, politics and everything else mankind has used to fuck up his world for his own sociopolitical and financial gain. Medicine, vaccines, money, charity, commerce. Everything. This is why I hate mankind and everything they do. There is nothing wrong with any of it except for that it is abused to that end and neglected due to human laziness and stupidity.

Which is exactly why what you say next is even more bullshit:

This is a mostly an atheist forum with many having a grounding in science. When you post be prepared to dodge all those slings and arrows.

You only use science in name for your own benefit. An illusion. A lie. Bullshit. Not science. Your abuse and neglect of it. You project. This is a religious forum. Existence of gods, General religion, religious texts, religion vs. science.

Atheist is not an ideology,

To reiterate. I've no problem with atheism or science, only a problem with idiots. The same with religion. Politics. Money. Love. Commerce. Sports. Entertainment. Fashion. Art. Music.

In short, idiot atheists who use science like the religious do God care very little or at all about science and God. Liars, narcasits, hypocrites. Idiots. I'm donating my body to science. You?

it is a rejection of claims of the existence of gods.

No it isn't. Ridiculous. Thanks to ideological fixation of people like you (idiots) it only seems like that. Used as a tool for that purpose. Hate to burst your bubble but anyone with any sense knows better. You only seek to replicate religion with idiocy. That's why idiot Christians always point this out to your religiosity. You have to deny definitions because you are those things. God, sin, religion,

An individual atheist can have any number of philosophical, mystical, or other beliefs that do not involve gods.

So can a theist. And an atheist can be so damn dumb that they have them without knowing it.

I generally go by Naturalism. In short anything that exists by definition is natural. There can be no supranational.

I doubt if you or anyone else here goes by anything other than blatantly obvious stupidity. Ideological fixation, sociopolitical frustration, blind raging stupidity, narcissism, hypocrisy. I just call it stupidity. Not all atheists. Just every single one I've ever encountered on any pathetic public forum like this.

You seem to be an unhappy person. At the Evangelical meeting I went to there wee about 20 adults and kids. Musicians payed and sang. Kids running around playing. People testifying and interpreting the bible.

It was actually a pleasant experience.

Not having any ideology to preach I can relate with most anyone. Gay, straight, black, white, brown, Christian, Jew, Muslim.

If you do not have any community you fester and brood and hate.

Christianity has always been about community and shared experience.

"I'm quiet and withdrawn. The one thinking how desperate and annoying you are."

Well DLH, you are venting and taking out your anger on others. For many coming to Jesus is transformative, the old is washed away by baptism and replaced with a new positive reality.

Religion is not about the words, it is about the people.

Atheism doesn't. Skepticism, careful examination of facts, which atheism is derived from, does.

Skepticism is not owned by atheists (some think they do)...

..and nor is science either. Also, science is not an 'opposition' to God. We can 'note' the 'obvious'...where religious people can also be scientists too.

Never claimed religious people can't be scientists. However with mental gymnastics all things are possible.

Mental gymnastics, I can agree with, although we'll 'differ' on who we think are the ones portraying it. Because religious people can be sceptics too.

We are watching Learner spin apologetics before our eyes. That is the Christian journey, eternal endless apologetic.

In philosophy, skepticism is a questioning attitude toward knowledge, suggesting that the possibility of certain knowledge, or even any knowledge at all, is uncertain or impossible. It emphasizes scrutinizing beliefs and knowledge claims rather than accepting them without question, and has led to diverse philosophical schools that either argue for the impossibility of knowledge, or a suspension of judgment.

Being selectively skeptical is not skepticism as an attitude.

Taking it on faith that Jesus rose fromthe dead based on a few lines form 2000 years ago is not skepticism. Believing Paul was inspired by a god not human things because Paul says so is not skepticism.

Believing Yahweh exists on subjective perceptions and what others say is not skepticism.

I am sure Learner is skeptical of my belief in the cat god Shirley who sits on my shoulder inspiring what I write, but is not skeptical that Yahweh spoke to Moses from a burning bush or that Yahweh created Adam and Eve.

A Christian will say he or she has evaluated the evidence for god and found it it to be true.

Then god becoese a definition. God is ... fill in the blanks.

I've always said, if you are going to with stupidity, best to stick with the blatantly obvious kind of stupidity.

That said, you seem to think the only people on atheist boards that will talk with you are stupid. Are you suggesting only stupid people are willing to talk to you? Because, I'm seeing a conjecture here.
