DNC - Convention in Philadelpia - Are you ready to Rock?

What is disappointing about the DNC not wanting a person who isn't a Democrat to be their nominee?
I get that Jimmy. Doesn't matter. He declared as a Democrat, they should have remained impartial.
I don't fucking care. Right now, the dregs, racists, misogynistic asses of this country are trying to wrest away control of the helm of the ship and hand it to an angry blind man who knows nothing about sailing... and we want to complain about whether the wine has been properly chilled!

They didn't want Sanders. This is not a surprise. Yet Sanders has several planks in the Party Platform. In general, we fucking won, without winning, without the DNC wanting us to win. $15 minimum wage, in there. Glass-Stegall, in there. Public College tuition, in there.

None of these things will happen if Trump wins. In fact, our nation is going to crash to the right if he does and his supporters think their awful opinions actually represent what the typical American thinks.

So let's get to the helm and keep the fucking lowest common denominators from sailing this nation into an iceberg.

I care, and I agree first priority is stopping Trump. However, I am none too pleased that Hillary (with Schultz joining her team now - officially anyway) and the DNC are forcing my hand, only because a deranged psychopath is running for office. I feel like the reason they're doing this is because they know our only option is to stop Trump, but that's a dangerous and completely irresponsible gamble to make on our stupid electorate.

I have no idea what the thinking was behind this decision. Let her step down and exit the scene. Hire her for something well down the road, after the election. Why extend this deeper into the convention? Might as well get to speak before Sanders so she can introduce him too as a "radical".

There are probably some other factors such as, they think voters will get over it once Bernie speaks at the convention, Wasserman-Schultz will give Hillary some important Florida votes and important Jewish votes, and Wasserman-Schultz is competent at the technical parts of her job as she's been Hillary's campaign manager before.

Yes there are good mechanics to it. I think this is why she chose Kaine. It makes Virginia much more likely to go her way (she's already ahead there, having Kaine solidifies it). This makes FL. pretty much a must win for Trump. FL has Schultz helping, a large Latino population, and Trump's campaign has almost no ground presence here (why is anyone's guess.)

It is like the Convention. He clearly doesn't know how to run a campaign. Any other person would have burned up by now, but for some reason Trump seems to get away with just about any gaffe (or flat our slur, George Allen must be furious!). He has been able to use the press to keep in the news for free exposure. His problem is turnout. Both parties need it, and as you noted, they don't have the operation to drive the turnout in several Battleground states. They seem to think TV will be good enough.

Sanders is trying to help.

Dear Bernie 2016 Delegate,
Thank you so much for your efforts on the campaign and your hard work to advance the political revolution. We have accomplished much. Much more needs to be done.

The political revolution is not about one election or one candidate. It is about transforming America and continuing the fight for economic, social, racial and environmental justice. We have to continue to work together to advance the progressive future we all support.

During this convention you represent not just the 13.3 million who voted for our campaign. You also represent the future of our movement.

I am asking all of us to bear that in mind while we are on the floor of the convention. Our credibility as a movement will be damaged by booing, turning of backs, walking out or other similar displays. That’s what the corporate media wants. That’s what Donald Trump wants. But that’s not what will expand the progressive movement in this country.

I know everyone is frustrated, especially by the recent DNC email disclosures. But, as a result of this disclosure Debbie Wasserman Schultz was forced to resign. This is a very positive sign.

We have made great progress in the last year. Let’s continue going forward.

I would ask you as a personal courtesy to me to not engage in any kind of protest or demonstration on the convention floor.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders

Apparently, some walls are okay.

And their opponent is Donald Fucking Trump. Really ... only the Democats could fuck this shit up.

Much like Arsenal - they're experts at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory :D

What's up with the music during this thing by the way? Are they not liable to pay royalties if the cover is spoken-word?

I don't think Clinton is forcing your hand on this. Isn't the GOP forcing your hand? Isn't your conscience forcing your hand?

All the above! But, if the GOP was running a regular, run of the mill douchebag instead of a Mega-demogogue, I might have the option of abstaining from voting. Alas, no such luck.

First time I've ever heard Cory Booker speak. He's pretty good (although a little sweaty).

Michelle Obama was incredible.

(Think of all the material Melania Trump has to work with now.)
